There seem to be a ton of in-progress Eridan cosplays right now... I think if you want to be a really rare troll Tavros has to be your option now. Almost nobody does Tavros.

Get a bald cap, and some hair wefts from a beauty salon like sally's. They sell some cheap weaving hair that you can put to the best of your ability I think. I thought about doing a Tavros myself, and still haven't really decided anything yet.

It's not all that bad as far as Gamzee cosplayers go, especially when you can't see the hot glue, but for a cosplayer like that to have a costume like that and get that kind of attention for it is kind of disappointing.

Give the story a chance. The first 50 or so pages are pretty bad and hard to sit through, but there's a point where the story just takes off and is awesome. I mean it's not well-polished fiction, but it is GOOD fiction 99% of the time, and very imaginative and funny. The characters are great too.

TL;DR - I used to be a Homestuck hater, but now I love it.

Yeah, the art does improve at times, but retains a certain mid-90s SLG motif that is infuriating throughout. At least for me the story overrides this, as it does in many comics. I read for story, not art.

It might not have the best drawings and the story sure is weird sometimes, but what makes the difference for me, is that homestuck made me laugh so much. The characters are extremely over-the-top and the humor is... very special.
If you take a look at Hussie's very old comics (not those at mspaintadventures.com, but the REALLY old ones, like "Being naked with old people"), you see that this guy's kinda fucked in the head. In homestuck, he made this and art.

To me, he's like a Terry Pratchett or Walter Moers for the webcomic-genre. But fucked in the head.

Four children playing a computer game which turns out to directly control the fate of their universe. Involves lots of time-travel and alternate-timelines, is also incredibly silly and hilarious and serious all at the same time. I don't think it's really similar in storytelling style to Terry Pratchett, but as both a huge Pratchett and Homestuck fan, I recommend it.
