It's fun and gratifying. When I finish a costume and it all comes together the way I had hoped, I feel good.

Positive attention.

Nothing wrong with that, I like meeting new people in an automatically positive way. Cosplaying at conventions essentially opens yourself up to a mostly damn friendly community.

It's not a OMG SUPER SRS LIFE AND DEATH thing, but I hold myself to a pretty high standard of craftsmanship, and I'd love to at least supplement my income by doing crafty things like commissions someday.

I have standards that I hold myself to when I make something. As I gain new abilities I raise my personal standards to exercise what I can do. I don't hold others to my own standards, as I cannot expect other people to do the same level of work that I do.

I do it primarily for fun, but if I'm making something artsy, I'm going to go all out on it anyway, so I might as well take it seriously.

I like to dress up in just about anything.
I like anime. So I like to dress up as my favorite anime characters. But I'd be happy in any costume.

I do it because it is a fun outlet for my creative urges.

I don't really take it seriously at all. I'm not the best by any means, and it doesn't matter. I try not to be the worst, that is all I really strive for.

I cosplay to have fun.

I love my fandoms, I love cons, I love having people ask for my picture, I love people going "Hi -insert character's name here-!", and I love getting in character.

I've always been into the plays and musicals at my school, and love the idea of putting on a costume and acting like a favorite character of mine. That and the reaction from people seeing you in a particular costume is always really nice. However cheesy it may be, too, meeting even one person who loves a series you're absolutely nuts for is also a plus.
