Yaoi fangirls, fangirls of online people, fangirls of 'traps' (any dude in a dress), any people who obsess over shit in an obnoxious far too public way.

Get rid of the creeps. The fangirls, the fanboys, the people who don't bathe, the people who think because a girl is dressed scantily, she's asking to be touched, the people who get offended and name call when someone says they have an SO, etc. Once they're gone, we can work on the weaboos, the BUTT SCRATCHAS, and the game that we lose every five seconds.

I would merely make it mandatory to conceal your power level. Because if you go around bragging about how high it is, it's not actually that high.

And insure quality sewing, as well as a magic mirror that tells you if you look like shit in your bunny suit.

Training videos. It worked wonders for my anime club in high school. Showed them pictures of what characters should look like versus the worst cosplays I could find of them. It seemed to get them thinking.

Somehow make it so that the only traits the make anyone good or popular are being kind and modest and just put the effort into the cosplays...

2) You know how when you go to cons you dance, walk, and generally move more than you do irl and usually eat less food?

I'd make that into a business. Weeaboo fat camp. We serve healthy, balanced meals based on japanese cuisine, and have panels that teach you how to cook them.

Treadmills and exercise bikes hooked up to video screens that stop playing your anime if you stop working.

DDR, Kinect, and Wii games that actually require standing motions are all that's in the video game room.

Other than that, it's like a normal con, but a week long, and we can charge more for admission because people will pay anything for diet products. We continue to hold this whenever possible until we have the cash to open our own facility and people can use it as a gym or make longer stays.

Nothing the cosplay community is fine, it has it's flaws i.e. smelly people, yaoi fangirls, creepers, general weeaboos, but meh...who cares. If we got rid of all the people this thread has talked about thee wouldn't me much left...even much of /cgl/ would be gone.

I would end all cosplay masquerades that ever existed.

Get rid of all those 25+ year olds that think they're part of some sort of secret elite cosplay organization just because they're 5 years older than the rest of the con and back in their day you had to sew 15 miles uphill through the snow with no shoes. Because despite you brain dead twats hurr-durr'ing over Bleach and any generic POS that comes out and decrying anything with a mature plot and interesting concept as "lol too deep", some of the old school nerds and fans still desperately want to see the "art" in anime make a comeback to the forefront of the community.

To be honest though, most of us have abandoned the community wholesale until the current gen gets bored and moves on. Only way to revive anime is to probably let the industry die and be reborn.

I don't think Masquerades are a problem, seeing as how they've been a part of conventions forever. Also, sometimes awesome stuff happens at them. Like kids winning a prize.

Then, make improper conduct (glomping, lack of showering to the point where you can smell them, inappropriate touching, etc) a punishable offense. First offense you are removed from the premises for a set period of time. Second offense, your badge is pulled for the year.

Most of the 'annoying weebs' I've met aren't actually bad people. They just never learn social skills because they're social outcasts in school settings, and most of the nerd community operates under the YOU'RE FINE THE WAY YOU ARE, WHATEVER, ANYBODY WHO CRITICIZES YOU FOR ANYTHING EVER IS JUST LIKE THE HATERS FROM HIGH SCHOOL mentality. I've seen some ladies I know go from obnoxious teenage weebs giggling about yaoi and guro wearing shit tier closet costumes who didn't shower very often... to entirely functional people with jobs and lives and interests outside of anime and decent social skills, and who still go to conventions and dress up in their spare time. The biggest problem with the cosplay community is underage weebs reinforcing each other's ideas that it's OK to act like total fucking morons. Break this cycle and it will help a lot.

Have classes of conventions, and badges for each.

Say there could be three classes.

Class A conventions are fucking massive. Only the biggest and most prestigious conventions are class A. Class B is below that, and Class C = everything else, small small ones included. Have a universal badge for each class. If you're just a noob starting out, buy a class C badge and infect the shitty local cons with your faggotry. If you're a really, truly serious cosplayer and you only want to be with the best, buy Class A, which is much more expensive.

70's-90's, artistic anime was always the big deal on the western end the anime fandom. It was much closer to being like sci-fi/comic cons in terms of attendees. People with actual intelligence (albeit dumpier looks) made the fandom thrive.

Now it's just a bunch of idiots spouting memes like jackasses, waiting for the next facial portrait from Kubo while decrying anything with a plot as "too deep".

Nostalgia is not in effect here. This is a simple study of the history of the fandom, and how it has been devolving in the last ten years.

I've been cosplaying for years and this shit annoys me more than anything else.
There is nothing, and I mean nothing, more disappointing and enraging than taking some girl's picture and then start talking her about the game she's from only to have her go "lol wut? XD. Oh yeah, that game. That was totes cool :3".

Get everyone really baked.

Have TONS of cosplay related events (cosplay chess, pose offs, etc).
The catch is, that each cosplay must resemble the reference pictures (either reference brought in, or looked up on the spot).

Random shit like people wearing akatsuki/organization XIII coats, who aren't an actual character...or shit like schoolboy Naruto (casual cosplay wear the just wear a wig) would not be permitted to enter.

This would make it so that if they wanted to participate, they would have to put some actual effort into it....thus gradually improving the quality of cosplay.
