I just got back from Katsucon which was held at the Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. This was my first Anime convention. For those living in Ohio, Anime convention is a convention that celebrates Japanese animation, Japanese comic books and general Japanese entertainment. And all I can say is "Wow" and "WTF?" This has been a very interesting convention. I've never seen so many people dressed up in costumes before outside Halloween. The upside was there were many pretty women dressed in very short and tight costumes. But the down side was there were many dudes dressed as women. I, being an idiot, didn't have my camera on Saturday which was essentially a giant costume parade, and didn't have a chance to record some of the awesome and revealing costumes at the show. But I did manage to take couple of photos on Sunday right before I left. One of the highlights of the show was me being verbally assaulted by a very angry and disturbed feminist. She asked me, "Do I LIKE drawing women being raped by dinosaurs?" after she saw my Shanna covers. There is no right or wrong answer to that loaded question. The whole confrontation was so bizarre that I could only but laugh at the time...which only angered her more. Rule of thumb: Never laugh at feminists, religious nuts, Republicans with guns and honey badgers. It never ends well. All and all, Katsucon was a fun and interesting convention, and I would do it again in the future... and I will remember my camera. -- Frank Chohttp://apesandbabes.com/katsucon-2011-in-maryland/
