1. Its fucking expensive as shit to get one in this country.2. Im half blind, so there is a chance that I cant get one ever.3. Idunno Im a loser.
I've had mine for years even though I've only ever driven once.
1.) in my state, you have to be making passing grades in school to even get your permit, and you have to have soooo many goddamn hours of driving to get your permit turned into a license. I'm 19 now, but I didn't wanna bother with it in school, and then I dropped out.2.) I got no one to drive me to do anything about it. Irony.3.) I'm actually kind of afraid of driving, and I don't even like being out in places alone. Thankfuly, my live-in boyfriend works from home, so basically he can tote me around wherever we go and not be burdened.
Had it for years.Own a car.Commute to work.Have to act like an adult and pay for gas, maintenance, registration, and other car related costs....Whoop de do
I have my first level license. To get my second level I need to pass a driver's test. My family's only car is pretty shit and has no registration. Also, public transportation is alright in my city.
Have one, just don't have a car.
I have monocular vision, basically I see out of one eye at a time, but can switch at willNo depth perceptionLimited periphrial.......do you want me driving? ;)Shit sucks though at 26 and cant drive. Bitches just want people with cars
I have. I drive every day to and from school and work on my own money because I am a responsible adult.Unfortunately, some fucker stole my gas while I was in class today, so that's a whole $25 gone.
Wut
I lost it and I don't want to go to the DMV to get a new one
>>3704534someone syhoned your gas?
I can't get a driver's license due to my vision but it doesn't really bother me. I don't have to pay for gas, car insurance, or vehicle maintenance so it works out well for me. Plus our city has a decent transit system.
I'm from NYC and even *I* have my driver's license.
Why the fuck would I pay £100 ish for lessons, plus a practical and theory test, then £325 a month for car + insurance?Yeah, I mad.
I have my permit, but I'm too lazy to finish my driver's ed so I can get my license. But whatever, man. I don't drive anywhere anyway.
Because I'm getting my new car today, and the old car I can't legally take the test in (fine for practicing in secret, but it has a lot of things wrong with it) - so now I just have to get used to this car and schedule it.
>>3704605i didn't crop out the right side of the image to show how much bank i make
I keep on failing parallel parking. They won't let me pass until I can do it. Fuck parallel parking.
>>3704621>fails at parallel parkinggood, you don't deserve one.
it's pointless getting a car in central london, there is nowhere to park it for miles around. far cheaper to just get buses and tubes.also cause pffft, i only got the provisional for ID.
>>3704621Haha. I failed at parallel parking AND backing around a corner. Still got my license, still the only one I know who hasn't gotten a ticket or been in an accident.
I have mine. Passed my test before I was 16. Where I live you can take the test when you're 14, and then they'll mail you your actual license when you turn 16.
>>3704621>>3704646Where do you guys live? I didn't have to back around a corner or parallel park for my test. But how do you fail backing up? Did you not turn your head and only look in your mirrors or something?
>>3704621Protip: Use your side mirrors.
>>3704649I didn't have to back around a corner either, but I did have to "parallel park". Which really meant pulling up to the curb, because we don't really have true parallel parking in Michigan.
I'm terrified of driving. I get panic-y even thinking about it. It's pretty pathetic that I'm 24 and still haven't properly learned to drive yet. I'm working there slowly. I've just gotten to where I can drive on quiet roads for about thirty minutes straight without having to stop because I feel nauseated to the point of gagging or vomiting.
>>3704649yeah same. I didn't learn how to parallel park until years after having my license, lol.
>>3704659I don't blame you, anon. Just recently, I began feeling stressed driving, moreso when I'm driving to work. It's scary out there but as long as you pay attention and not be intimidated, it won't be so scary anymore.
>>3704649I believe I failed due to the fact that I wasn't within X inches to the curve.
I just got mine a week ago, and I really only got it because its too far to walk to my college. :/
don't have the money for it.
lol@parallel parking. When I went to take my test, we stopped by the place where they tested parallel parking and knocked the barrels over before we went to take the test. When we got to the parallel parking place and the barrels were still down, the instructor's exact words, "ah, fuck it, let's just skip this."
>>3704489>implying I haven't had my driver's license for 14 years
i got my license. i got city connections which let me just drive her( the tester) around the block once and she gave passed me :)oh look at that i got an hour before class ...
been driving for over ten years, u mad bro?
I'm too broke and I can usually get around town just fine on my mountain bike.
I was involved in a car crash a few years ago. Since then, it's not uncommon for me to get very anxious in cars.
you can't get anywhere in norcal without a car. i wish i was in new york or some place similar so i dont have to drive 2 miles for a burger
Don't need to be able to drive a car. My parents never learned to, so we don't have one. My bike works just fine, as does public transport.Plus I'd probably crash into some innocent granny the moment someone put me behind the wheel.
Cause I live in London. I don't need a car here. In fact, I'd be mad to try and drive here....
Because around here we have to have a fixed number of classes. Happens that these driving lessons are the most boring thing on Earth, so I decided I like my private driver better.Pic related, it's my private transportation.
Ehh, general laziness coupled with the fact I don't have anyone to take me to a testing place? And the fact I don't have a vehicle to use can also be part of it. Getting it soon though.
>>3704489I have one- but it took me two trials to get it :Dgetting a German drivers license is a pain in the ass, I tell ya.
I had one, But it got suspended due to a traffic violation I never payed. Oh well I don't really care, I rarely need to drive anywhere on my own anyways.
>>3704669Yeah, I know. I'm taking it very slowly and not forcing it on myself. I even had a terrible experience with a private driving instructor who pretty much told me that I was so stupid that I would never be able to learn to drive. She also did a lot of other crazy shit. I was behind the wheel practicing a week later because I knew that I couldn't let a bad experience discourage me. I've always been nervous about cars. When I was a kid I didn't want to ride the school bus because they didn't have seat belts. (And I was only a block away.) It got worse when I was in highschool and one of our classmates died in a horrible accident. I didn't know him, but our school parked his wrecked vehicle in front of the class room building so I had to walk by it every day for almost a year. After that, I didn't even want to sit in the driver's seat of a car until I was twenty. Then just as I was getting used to the idea of driving my aunt was killed by a drunk driver and my father got hit by a semi truck who's driver had fallen asleep behind the wheel. (He's fine, but it still scared the shit out of me.)It made me nervous and scared all over again, but I knew I couldn't give up. I've just taken things very slowly since then. It might take a while, but I knew that one day I won't be scared anymore.
>>3704715Where the fuck do you live?
>>3704776>>private driving instructor who pretty much told me that I was so stupid that I would never be able to learn to drive. please tell me that you reported this to someone.
Got finnsih one in the first try (both the text and driving test) shit is pretty easy. I have shitty job now thought and I drive half asleep sometimes, dangerous and stupid I know. I'd drive better drunken.
Took me four tries to get beyond the "you have to drive with your parents" license but I finally got it this year. I didn't get a lot of practice since I've been away at university for years.
>>3704779Anywhere outside the immediate Bay Area has this problem. Even living in Sacramento you have to live with a car.
