Hi there, boyfriend-carried Selendis here, lol.
I really hate how there were 50,000 ramps on stage (as well as backstage) because it was much easier to walk on flat surfaces, as you can tell when I'm doing it.
I also hated how you couldn't see my costume on stage because I needed so much help; my bracer's velcro was ripped off from my almost falling on the ramp, and none of the lights were visible.
Here's a pic of the side. I will say that I really worked hard on this costume but that I was rushing at the end. I felt that my mask was better than the other girl's (looked MUCH more like the in-game Selendis despite not having lights) but I went overboard with sculpting and casting my pieces out of resin and so I didn't finish the "face armor" and the "belt" and the shoulder arcs were also unfinished.
Oh well, lesson learned, don't be still building certain pieces the night before the con. lol.

Agreed with the ramps. I had flat, no heeled, boots on and was worried I may fall because of the incline of the ramps. Add stilts/super high shoes to the mix, and you get issues like needing to be carried off stage. I saw this selendis walking just fine backstage. Blizzard did not think those ramps through for cosplayers.

Yup, I had slush cast the bracers in resin, and I Dremel'd out some more of the resin afterward for the power supply so it would sit on my wrist. It's more of a switch to classic's play style, I'd say. I've been tanking shit since molten core on my warrior so I don't mind the changes at all...tanking just requires more skill again, like it used to.

Though our AoE threat is definitely nerfed, it is still easy to AoE tank. Charge in, rend/thunderclap, cleave as soon as it is viable, tab target, shield slam, tab target, revenge, devastate, repeat. Get the sunder armor glyph that applies a stack of sunder to more than one target- it works with devastate too.

I think that's Ayabi though. Her costumes are usually really nice but her attitude is horrible. I can't help but feel a little good when she doesn't win.

Just purely out of curiosity, how are you able to enter the Blizzcon costume contest when you work for an affiliate of Blizzard's?Directly from the rules: "...employees of sponsor, advertising and promotional agencies, are not eligible to win any prizes."

Partially because I am an external contractor employed by Cryptozoic, not an employee of theirs. I can even enter Cryptozoic's own contests. I am employed by Apotheosis Agency, NOT Cryptozoic. However, that is not even an issue: Cryptozoic is a VENDOR, NOT a sponsor for the event or advertising/promotional agency hired by Blizzard. If I was part of the agency hired by Blizzard (one of the brooding models), I would not be eligible because they are hosting the event. Cryptozoic is NOT one of BlizzCon's sponsors -- they are a company who purchased a booth at the convention and sell a licensed product. Also I was always a big fan of Devastate + Sunder armor glyphs, but the range on the bonus sunder seems to be really really short now so I switched it out with Cleave. Still doesn't make much of a difference, just a bit more rage-to-damage

If you were going to do that for Ayabi, you should for it for the costume winner (The Monk). She works with Ayabi in the same company.
