think about 6 years ago, I was playing with him on my bed and he just
rolled over onto his back on his own! I started scratching his tummy and
he got so happy haha. Now, he either does it himself, or I can just
flip him upside down myself :)
Aw yeah, cockatiels can't really technically vocalize like parrots can, but they can be very talented with their whistling! Cockatiel singing Chocobo theme http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d81qFaoe010 Zelda theme http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CCXrIhc28M I
want that cockatiel so badly haha. I have a hard time teaching my birds
to talk! It seems that they choose to say whatever they want. My
Senegal parrot heard my mother scream "EMILIE WAKE UP" every morning
before school when I was growing up... and she eventually started saying
it herself! Sometimes at 6AM I just hear her yelling for me to get up
haha. She also imitates the answering machine beeps, my alarm clock, the
microwave. My Amazon says "Hello" when the phone rings!
I've
pretty much been into birds my whole life :) My mother always had so
many pets in the house. My senegal parrot is about 20 years old now. We
got her when I was 5, so we grew up together! We had cockatiels,
parakeets, finches, parrotlets, conures, a pigeon, doves. At one point
we had 7 cats, 2 dogs, 3 parrots, 4 other birds, a guinea pig, a rabbit
and a hamster.
I loved all of them.. but now that it's just me
taking care of the pets, I'm glad we have less. Though I guess eight
diamond doves is a lot haha. Their babies are too precious. |
