looking at the whole pokemon concept, it's essentially dog/rooster
fighting. Obtain the animal, train it to defeat the opponent, rewards
for winning, punishment for losing.
It's really messed up to be
honest. I can also understand why the pokemon, after being caught, don't
fight back. They have been beaten and defeated and go into a pack
mentality of being the submissive to the owners commands, like a beaten
puppy.
I don't think parents really look at the implications within the games they allow kids to play... Rewatching
the first movie was weird, because at the end they are going on and on
about how pokemon shouldn't be used to fight, but they continue on
battling them. That and Mewtwo is like one massive super powered Mary
Sue. >"I'll stop the Pokemon's special attacks with my psychic powers, because I'm awesome and all powerful like that!" |
