You should cosplay a character because you like them. Even if they aren't white if you work hard on you costume and choose a good colour scheme it will look good and be recognisable.

But this is helpful for those of us that would like to cosplay characters closer to our own skin tone.

Yeah, I know. Some of those characters shouldn't be on the list, but its a good starting point anyway. Not to mention that some of the characters kinda change tones throughout their series'. So a character that appears pale at one time is sometimes tan or even dark and the same goes for the other way around...
First one that comes to mind is, Ryofu Housen of Ikki Tousen/ Battle Vixens. She gets lighter and lighter as the seasons go on.

The thing is, you actually have to go to their site to find it.. Most people use a search engine to look for this kind of list and it is usually buried in the search results and hard to find... I used google to find it the first time and it took FOREVER. It also depends in the terms used when searching too; it makes a world of a difference. The second time I actually went to coscom and it was right there lol.
