  • We've got big plans for Otakon this year. Stay tuned!
It's a well known fact that I loathe CAPTCHA, but at this point it's better than the site being entirely engulfed in spam. We're trying to work a better solution out, but in the interim, this is the best solution. Thanks for understanding
EDIT: Oh yeah, and you can get to boards by going to 4chan.org/<board>. Not sure if we announced that.

    Sure wish everyone knew this.

Especially the part about not touching the models. I have never been molested more times than at a con.

I always use "BITCH LEMME GET A PIC OF DAT ASS AND SHIT GAWD DAAAAMN GRRRRRRRL" works like a charm. Every time. Even with men. Just ask Yaso.
    >> Anonymous 07/29/10(Thu)21:47 No.3353005
I sure wish photographers would show me the pictures they took right after they took it more. I don't care about con photos, but during a shoot, I'd like to see them - especially since I can't see if something needs to be adjusted on my outfit.

Hahaha. This guide makes me laugh.

The last part of that tutorial specifically said to look for costume slips, too.

Well, of course things like wardrobe malfunctions, but you can't expect the photographer to know how your specific character's outfit is supposed to lie.

I know, but if it's obviously like bunched up in the crotch or the waist and looks unflattering, I'd like them to say something.
    >> Anonymous 07/29/10(Thu)23:02 No.3353354
This is why cosplayers turned photographers are awesome. Because they look at the costume before taking a picture. I know i make sure that the costume is hanging right, the wig looks good, etc. before taking a pic. Fashion/portrait photographers, not just hobbyists will looks at these things too.

It's also why doing pair/group shoots is good. You have someone to have your back costume-wise

This. He and some other photographers I can think of really need to learn some fucking etiquette.
    >> Anonymous 07/29/10(Thu)23:11 No.3353377
I can't fucking stand it when Local Shithead Photographer #2462316 jumps right up on a shoot and starts blazing away with their pop-up flash.

Hall pictures, eh, what are you going to do. Especially if you're taking pictures of a really good costume or it is a girl wearing very little. I've stopped girls, asked for a photo, got them posed and taken one, then I look up and find something like fifty douchebags with iPhones crowding around taking the same exact fucking picture. It is annoying, but nothing you can stop.

However, when you've got your fucking lighting equipment out and some fucktard with a D700 still set on auto comes strolling along and ZOMG I CAN HAZ PIKTUR?!

    rage.
    >> Anonymous 07/30/10(Fri)00:30 No.3353791
Can I /r/ the rest of this tutorial, or where to find it?
If I have a crappy little point and shoot camera for my own enjoyment, should I still follow all the rules? ie; showing them the picture afterwards.

I think that a lot of cosplayers should read this as well. It has a lot of helpful tips about what they can do to make their photos look better in the long run. (Going outside, being ok with some level of direction, posing, etc.)

Also, it would hopefully decrease the bitch whiners who complain about 'creepy' camera people who should only exist to take photos in the allotted five seconds before returning to perusing retarded merch in a Dealer's room.

Oh god-- Photographers. I'm an amateur at best, but I try to get good pictures for the cosplayers.

But there's this one photographer-- J.Slicer; a huge freaking douche who acts and talks like he knows every single goddamn thing about photography. And if you don't know much? He'll start "teaching" you.
I myself was in the middle of a shoot when it was about to start raining, and here this jackass comes and TAKES OVER.

Anyone have problems with other photographers?
