I always hate that double standard. It's bad for guys to crossplay as females because it's "unconvincing" yet it's perfectly okay for women to crossplay as men while looking absolutely nothing like men and even wearing girly makeup to be "pretty girls"? If I see another girl cosplaying as Sasuke, Ezio, Vash the Stampede or Dante that makes them just look like little sister versions of the characters it will be too soon.

I'm not saying female crossplayers can't be unconvincing but there are variables there. It's easier for a girl to pull off a feminine boy than for a more masculine guy to try to pull off the same character. Likewise, most guys are too masculine to pull off little girls from Touhou, but some really can be convincing. It's here and there but I'd never automatically say OH ALL CROSSPLAYERS ARE BETTER at some specific series because they rarely are, unless it's yaoi or something.

Caution the games can very difficult even on easy modo and fustrating. I'd recommend starting off with Touhou 08 東方永夜抄 - Imperishable Night as it's probably the most accessible for beginners.

I would take caution when buying pvc figures off the internet.

Maybe it's just me, but I like to observe all the angles of a pvc before I buy it to make sure it's free from: physical defects, bad paint jobs, broken parts.

I've bought from AmiAmi numerous times before, including a large PVC figure. They're incredibly reliable. Their products are brand new, mint and in a sealed box. If you did buy something that was broken they would more than likely allow you to return it. Their customer service is excellent.

I'd rather buy from them than some hobby shop or dealer who will jack the price up by at least $50.

I meant with figure manufacturing itself. Even companies with high-quality figures could have the occasional bad batch or so. Thankfully, all my figures have been perfect, but some of my friends have been not-so-lucky.
