Hey /cgl/. I know, another Pokémon gijinka, but I really need some advice and I don't really know anywhere better to ask.

I'm planning on making a Hypno gijinka, and so i've drawn some designs. Shown is the only one I actually like the look of, but to me... it's not that recognizable as Hypno.

I'm trying to get a nomadic look to the character, but even that doesn't come across that much...

Any advice? Ignore my terrible drawing style, i'm not much of an artist...

And I guess so this thread isn't completley wasted... gijinka thread?

I think the main problem here is that Hypno's body is all one color, and you've got three colors going on here. Four, including the hair color. You need to stick to the color scheme if you want your gijinka to be recognizable. There are also some details here that are really not necessary...like the belt and the earring. If you take an idea and run with it, you're gonna end up with designs like this--interesting, but no one will know who you are. Stick to Hypno's yellows and whites and try not to roam too far outside of that. If you still want a nomadic look, instead of the cape just stick to a large wrapped scarf around the neck, like Sheik from Legend of Zelda.

You have a point about the colours, but that much yellow can look somewhat tacky... Maybe if I removed the trousers, lengthened the "tunic" and kept the underbinding of bandages? Only problem there is that it would look a little too simple...

I'll remove the earring, belt and cape and do the scarf like you said too. Makes more sense, come to think of it. Thanks!

Maybe if you lengthened the tunic, yeah. You can't worry about too much of a color when making a gijinka...you pick a yellow Pokemon, you're gonna end up with a lot of yellow.
Don't forget to add the ears somehow...even if you just use elf ears or something, don't forget his big, triangular ears.

I've just had a thought about the tunic. If I make the fabric more worn and slightly frayed at the edges, do you think it could work with the nomad idea?

And I'd really prefer to avoid elf ears, but maybe I could make the wig look like it has "ears" like they did in the musical "Cats"? Just a random idea.
