Otakon is a large convention enough that you can easily ignore Vic and whatever is going on with him throughout the weekend. Sure you may run into the big lines for his scheduled events and probably a few crazies or yelling, but it's not so bad.

On the other hand, at Setsucon this year they made him their main guest and musical guest as well. With it being such a small con, his presence was overbearing and the fans were unavoidable. Meh...

At the Anime Expo a couple years ago, I played at a Battle of the Bands and he sang a couple songs. He was really good BUT he had a hilarious douche attitude. He had a sound check of course to run through his songs just like everyone else did, and then when people filled the seats he acted like it was all spur of the moment. I've heard the same... He came to Akicon 2008, it was it's first year and is a super small con, and made it pretty evident how it wasn't "the type of con he normally spent time at."

This got really irritating by the end of the first day, so a group of con-goers decided to draw pages of hardcore yaoi involving all the characters he voices and slid them under his hotel room door. He was overheard on the last day bitching to staff about how he expected the con to be bigger, felt disrespected, and had no plans of returning.

There's inevitably a scant handful of normal people who tend to keep to themselves at one end of the table, usually the end furthest away from Vic, with all the other fangirls generally fighting over who gets to sit next to Vic (or closets to him), and then trying not-so-subtly to get his attention over the course of the meal.
