i went to a convention a few years ago with my parents. it was kind of good. i think it was two years ago. no, three. anyway, it was good. i didn't faint.

I went to the convention alone twice. It was a bummer sometimes, but usually on the first day of the con, there's this nice group of cosplayers that welcomed me to join them. It was lots of fun hanging out with them. We often attended some of the panels together. I'm super happy this year my friends are coming with me to the con, for once...

Going alone isn't so bad, just be social and keep busy. You'll meet some decent acquaintances n no time.

I've been going to anime conventions alone since my first one in 2007 (Katsucon 13). I did not even cosplay on my first two conventions because they were just one-day stands. I did not knew any friends that were going anime cons with me, despite attending two anime clubs in the DC area. And guess what, despite meeting new people during conventions, I still go to cons alone.

The sad truth is that even though I have many acquaintances, I do not have any close friends at all.

But you should be OK with going to conventions alone, as you as you stay safe gary.

i went to a garden convention with my parents, not an anime convention. sorry if i confused anyone. we went there 3 years ago and we saw some of the people from the news at their own booth. it was pretty cool.

my 'friends' often ditch me when we're at the con, so most of the time I just wander around aimlessly by myself, but the other times I do manage to find some interesting people even though I'm not very social. It's always been in cosplay too. Like I once made friends with a bunch of stragglers from a gathering I went to, pretty fun.

People at cons are very friendly. As long as you're not being a creeper, you should have no problem meeting folks. Especially if you're a moderately attractive girl.

wow. fanime is really, really far away. i have a sister that lives in massachusetts that i visit sometimes (i used to live there). i'm in florida at the moment. i think i'll be going to a massachusetts con instead since i will not be in florida for very long. i think the farest west i ever went is louisiana.
