Ah /cgl/ How I miss this store. It's still there but I'm saying I miss going there and talking to other cosplayers. Now its nothing but he say she say, drama, and host clubs fighting one another to have events there. Battery Park is no better.
true
>>2874142I miss Asahiya; so much cool/rare stuff that wasn't just anime. Their anime calendar prices were godly. Any place that sells zasshi at a better price than Kino's?
I think its because its a "OMG, JAPANESE STORE WITH ANIME AND WHATEVS, MUST INVADE!!!!11!! <3 :D"I know there are probably other anime stores around the city but its because Kino is...I dont know, special?I love going there just to buy stuff or look at things with a group of friends time to time. But because there are so much weeaboo's that go there for EVERY event and shit, no one really likes going to Kino much anymore.I havent heard about the drama part, but the host club event thing is so annoying.
Isn't there one close to Bryant Park?
Kinokuniya is the one close to Bryant Park. It's also pretty close to GCT, so it might get more visitors from outside the area who don't want to navigate the rest of the city.
i still go there. mostly during the week when all of the kids are in school. i just go to buy manga, and have some cake and tea. or maybe lunch. then i go.
I feel so bad for the employees here.
>>2874370why they still get paid.
>>2874390Personally, it'd take a certain monetary threshold for me to deal with anime brats on a daily basis.
>>2874142I never get events in Seattle' Kino. I see a Naruto cosplayer that is too into it every once in a while though, no other cosplayers.
Been there, honestly wasn't too impressed by their selection of items. I didn't see any weeaboos, but I did have a guy follow me around and talk to me about Code Geass because he heard me suggesting it to my friend in a private conversation we were having. Shit was so cash.
love this place, actually, they have a pretty nice selection, I thought? I've only been there in the middle of a weeaboo fest once or twice but I've run into some pretty awful cosplayers. But they sell twilight manga. what the fuck.
>>2875244>Been there, honestly wasn't too impressed by their selection of items.This. But, host club event? Wat?
>>2874142WTF is a host club event? I've been to a host club in japan but I don't get this.
Everytime I go there to have lunch with my japanese husband, and we see weaboos, we laugh at them. He says they are pathetic. tldr: a japanese man call y'all pathetic. MIND=BLOWN. what now? an hero now plox
>>2877918Japanese husband automatically invalidates your statements
>>2877918Your husband is calling you pathetic, why aren't you an heroing
Kino is overpriced.
>>2877918>an hero now plox>implying you're married and not just some underage cancer from /b/
I wish we had something like Kino in the south. I go to NYC every so often, and I always go to Kino. Their selection may not be huge, but something is better than nothing.
>>2877956Im not a weaboo. I just come here for the drama :3
>>2878412>>2877918> flaunting japhusband> an hero plox> :3gtfo /cgl/
China town is better.
