Thanks so much for making this thread! For 2011 I'm planning a giant ES group and with my luck it'll come to me to make Polka, and Chopin, and Fugue, and Waltz, and Falsetto... So some of these are incredibly helpful. Sorry I don't really have anything to contribute, unfortunately... Here's one of two total ES cosplayers I've ever seen ever. (Also adding she was very in shape, I think Polka just bulks people up unless they're stick thin)

ES costumes in general tend to bulk people up. All the layers add up!

My ES cosplay visually added about 5 lbs. to my frame with layers... and I foolishly lined everything so double the layers.

I felt ridiculous in my Salsa outfit, just really big and puffy. I kept walking into things with my bloomers.

That's the thing with photos, unless you've got a skilled photographer, awesome lighting, and a great camera, it's hard to capture all the small details on complicated costumes like those in ES.

I know my costume photographed rather poorly because of lighting and the background being white along with my costume being mostly white.

I custom dyed my wig... not quite perfect, but it does its job.

It started out as a normal pink Punky XL. I then dyed it twice with magenta sharpies (4 each time in 8oz of 70%) and then the AC Moore ran out of berry so I used 2 berry and 2 pink, again in 8oz of alcohol. After that, with the opinions of /cgl/, I did 2 red and 2 orange in 8oz to end up with this color.

Because red never full dries or rinses out, I get a lot of residue on my collar, but the color of the wig is nice.

Mmm it's fine. I was just surprised because there are so many cosplayers and I would never imagine even being considered "notable".

And... this is my favorite Waltz cosplayer. He's seriously like 6+ feet tall. I talked to him at AUSA, very nice guy. But the best part was that this little girl dressed up as a princess assumed he was a prince and wanted a photo with him. She seriously came up to his knees! It was so funny and cute. I didn't take a pic because I didn't want the girl's parents to assume I was taking the photo for the "wrong" reasons. It was amazing to see though :/

Even Cure has a serious lack of Eternal Sonata cosplays aside from Chopin. The thing that kind of pisses me off bout Cure is that a lot of cosplayers do weird angles so you hardly see the costume, like this.

Actualy, his Waltz costume started out as a Tuba joke. I was fighting against Tuba (I'm his sister), and I joked he should cosplay Tuba. It turned into a several day long running joke,

Tailoring looked ok - cosplayer used velvet which like satin will always show any folds, wrinkles, and waves in the fabric because of its sheen.

Truly not a bad find. Kinda skimped on the detailing. The jacket makes me lol, it's adorably too short for the cosplayer (like it was his old jacket he started to grow out of but wouldn't give up).

I imagined his boots to be a touch more silver than gunmetal gray/black.

Humans typically don't have heads that are thicker than their torso with hips and legs making up over 2/3 their height. Having this shape naturally is unlikely and would take a lot of surgical procedures to replicate.

Most cosplayers pictured here did a decent job tacking ES' intricate costumes. However, you sound like you know of better pics/cosplayers, feel free to add them here. We'd be interested to see.

...They look the same age in both pics. Unless they used different makeup (and application techniques) or used a stupid Asian myspace angle, I doubt they could achieve very youthful looks. They all clearly read as grown women in their photos.
