Vick is having a panel at Tekkoshocon VIII in Pittsburgh where he is going to debunk any internet rumors about him. Seriously, I really wish I was making this up.

Dearest /cgl/, what do you want me to ask him?

Ask if it's true that he's a christian

Only according to the Catholic Church. Alchemy was basically the forerunner to modern chemistry. It was considered heresy because most science was. Trying to understand the universe went against the the Church because why would a devout Christian question the power of God's supreme authority? Therefore, alchemy was heresy and punishable by death.

You'd be surprised how many people still think alchemy symbols are 'Satanic'. Yeah, Satanic like the periodic table.

Ugh, the CLAMP rumor pisses me off. If he had met CLAMP, he would have known how shitty Tsubasa actually gets later on.
Back in 2008, my friends and I did an Acid Tokyo group for Tsubasa, all bloodied up (especially our Fai, who we decked out to make it look like her eye had been gouged). This was one of our first group costumes and they weren't very good, but you could tell we were from Tsubasa, at least. When Vic saw us, he freaked out and said, "IS THAT WHAT HAPPENS TO FAI?!"
Yes, Vic, that's what happens to Fai. If you had met CLAMP like you said, surely they would have told you so.

I hear he tells this story at other conventions, too, about the 'bloody Tsubasa cosplayers' he met at a smaller con once.

    >"I've heard a rumor you give out your home address to underage girls, is this true?"

HAHAHA this actually is true. He gave me his home address when I was 16. I sent him a gift because I was a fan at the time. If you email him and say you're a fan, he really will give out his address. At least, he used to.

I probably still have it, but I got banned here once for posting it.

Vic makes it a point to only play characters that support his moral beliefs, though, often wanting to change them to fit in with that.

    >Trying to understand the universe went against the the Church because why would a devout Christian question the power of God's supreme authority? Therefore, alchemy was heresy and punishable by death.

Actually the church was the main forerunner for science. If you wanted to be a scientist you had to become a monk. And it was encouraged to question aspects of your religion. Alchemy was heresy because it had the mixture of 'magic' which was attributed to witches. Witches were alligned with the devil, thus magic is devil work.

The church didn't care if you practiced science outside of the church either, they just didn't want you to disrupt the power quota. American Christians on the other hand, tend to be fucking jokes and spit in the name of progress.

I met the guy. I used to be a fun.

Then I found out about all this shit (the rumors, the miniskirt army AND the rangers) I stopped liking him and made a facebook status saying how lightly how I dislike Vic and that I would rather not get into it (ALL OF MY FRIENDS ARE RAGING FANSSS) and ALL of them insisted I get into.

I blew them off saying that they wouldn't want to know or want me to get into it. But they kept making snarky comments like "Oh you just can't get any proof for why you don't like them" and I said "he's a douchebag" and they continued with the "Where's proof?!" comments

I told them a bit of proof but it did nothing to them. I need to know what to do and what I should say to get them to at least let me live my life as a hater of Vic in peace?

Vic claims to be a very religious man, and as such he does not cuss, drink alcohol, or sin in general.

However, there is a video somewhere around the internet of Vic at a con party, drunk as balls, stealing the party host's drinks and leaving. It's clearly Vic in the video, there's no denying it.

Rangers are crazy though, and refuse to believe that the man is anything less than a saint.
    >> Anonymous 04/09/10(Fri)23:17 No.2803867
Most young fans idolize their heroes and will refuse to believe they could possibly be "bad" (aka just being a normal adult human being)-- drinking, doing drugs, having sex, etc.

Had the same fights over different public figures years ago. Laughed so hard when they were presented with evidence they could not deny-- for years they denied this person had a drug problem, and yet he ends up in rehab.
    >> Anonymous 04/09/10(Fri)23:19 No.2803871
