it should be ok, with the main police department only a mile away. It is off E Jefferson, so i don't know. I'm going to have fun and get high. So all i can say is just have fun and don't worry about, I wouldn't be walking around that part of town at night, best stay inside the hotel. And that whole thing like dearborn hyatt, where mofos were walking around outside hanging in the parking lot and chillin should get tossed out the window, cause you " might get robbed" Which might be funny to see naruto and team 7 getting held up at gunpoint for money, even thou there suppose to be " ninjas" with probably weapons on them. I... who grew up in detroit wouldn't even go outside. Fuck that, you know i would cause i don't have shit to worry about it, but some of you guys just need to understand your surroundings. I'm pretty excited. It really outgrew the dearborn location last year. A lot of the bigger panels you couldn't even get into because there simply wasn't enough room to accomodate everyone. Also, from what I understand this new location has a food court, and a shopping area. Someone told me it has a CVS or a walgreens inside. Hell, you probably don't even have to leave the building once you're there. They should probably have a new site up in a few months.

I can't wait to hear about naive white weeaboos being mugged and raped left and right.

You've never been to downtown Detroit have you? Downtown is about the only section of Detroit where the police actually show up if you call. Further, its in the Rencen, which is owned by GM and patrolled by the cops like crazy. Take it from personal experience, you make a complaint or call and they are there within 3 minutes or less. Sure you have the occasional panhandling bum, but find me a large city that doesn't. Downtown isn't some guntoting gangbanger's haven that you see on the news, that is reserved for the rest of the city. You know, the part that you have to drive through to get to downtown.

From reading the posts about people being somewhat paranoid about Detroit, it sounds like how people were about Anime Expo when they first moved into the Los Angeles Convention Center in 2008. For two years being there, AX haven't ran into any problems about people getting mugged or shot. I'm sure Youmacon will be fine.
