I had some shit fucked up with my eye once and they did use a dye to help see what was fucked up with my eye. You can probably check aroudn and see if there's something similar in a black color (doubtful) but it also only lasts like 10-15 mins.

Either cop out with the glasses as above suggested or go with the sclera and find other costumes to wear them with to make it worth it.

Dream from the Sandman series would use them for one suggestion.

It's possible you could punch out the lenses to some black sunglasses and glue them to your face. That sounds just crazy enough to work.

I really do think it would be. If you did the plastic beach outfit (one in your pic,) that would come cheap, I would say with large exaggeration, $50 at the most.
You can get the boots and the hat easily at an army surplus store for cheap,, and the jeans and wifebeater im willing to be you have.
And I wouldn't worry at all about the hair, a wig like that would probably be the most expensive part (excluding contacts), but even the wig would run cheap if you looked.
The scleras would be, imo, a good investment. If you ever chose to do a reaccuring 2D cosplay (since he has many outfits), the scleras would always ice the cake. Plus there are many other characters with full black eyes that you may come across.

This has actually always confused me. His name is 2D because Murdoc named him that due to the Dents in his skull. So his eyes are really just caved in...Not that his pupils are swollen. I mean Stu Pot didn't have coloured pupils, so at best you could get away with regular black contacts and heavy eye makeup. (I just closed my eyes in my 2D pictures~_

What is the shelf life on those sclera contacts? If I could use them again it would probably be worth it.

Oh, for the eye makeup, if you so choose, don't use just eyeshadow. Try Ben Nye's creme based black make up. It stays and covers much better.

I just typed up all black contacts into google shopping. They must have gone down in price because the Trueblood Vampires have them. I can't figure out if they'll last me more than 3 months though.

The easiest way would be to put on mascara that matches your skin type ie. hides your eyelashes, black out your eyelids and close your eyes for photographs. You'd have to be pretty darned good with makeup to not look like a raccoon at the end of the day, though.

Artwork in Rise of the Ogre clearly shows 2D's eyeballs being pulled from the sockets in the course of the accidents. Going by that, and no other mention of medical treatment to do with it, he doesn't have eyes. The black effect is caused by no light being shone into his eye sockets, I guess.

Demon Days is Phase 2. She has a pretty wide selection in that phase actually, so good news.
http://www.gorillaz-unofficial.com/ is a great site for pics and sources. You can click on the phase 2 scans. Also, in Phase 2 her hair is more of a purple. It is in Phase 3 (the current phase), but it's pretty easy to tell the difference between 2 and 3.

Most of the sclera contacts I'm finding are "theatre grade" what does that mean in terms of how long they last?

If it's longer than a year then I can justify buying them.

contact buff here..theater grade contacts will last you for years and years if you keep them clean, free of bacteria and in fresh solution.
