First Acen I stayed in the hotel...I was walking around and decided to take a seat in the upstairs courtyard. Got knocked out a bit by a falling sandal that came from ten levels above.

Haha, Anime Boston 08... I remember is sitting at home that weekend, watching /cgl/ explode with complaints (I believe one anon reported waiting 11 and a half hours only to be told registration was closed..), and being extremely glad I had decided AB wasn't worth it anymore.

My friend and I were sitting on these chairs outside a panel room and these two probably 10 yr old girls started fighting I guess. I just remember they were in shitty cosplay and one started choking the other and then the other started crying I think and then ran off. My friend and I are looking at each other like wtf? and the staff sitting literally 2 feet from us were utterly fucking oblivious to what just happened. at megacon one year my friend meets this group of girls I try to wingman and talk to some of the other ones. apparently a hambeast got the idea that I was her kawaii prince and my friend decided to encourage her. at jacon she started following me around a lot but I ditched her and i think she was starting to get the message. before the rave I decided not to go and get hammered. got drunk almost blew chunks on people in costumes, and proceed to act like a dumb ass go swimming and then go back up to the room to vomit and sleep. my friends decide to check up on me stalker is with them , they go to dance and i pass out on bed and wake up and feel someone holding onto me. i figure its my other friend and I say 'ridley' and he answers from across the room i get scared look down and there is ham beast. apparently my friends thought it would be a good idea if she laid in bed next to me and that I like her and shit like that. feeling betrayed and violated I left for a 4 am walk around the con, sadly i felt safer conversing with man chii and his girlfriend until it was time to get up and pack. Sadly though ham beast decided to stay in the room, I brought my faveriote suit to the con and it somehow got missplaced in the evening turned out later that my friend was a dipshit and thought it was his I left that jacon ready to kill someone.

not really a stalker story because all hambeast did was not understand I was not interested, it was more my friend trying to look good to her friend. I learned a lot of important lessons from that night.

No, I assure you, this is the real kinda thing. They tried to make excuses at first that were half-assed and a bad attempt for me not to call the cops, but it seemed like there was one goddamn huge elephant in the conversation that they were trying like all hell to avoid. Finally one of them manned up and explained that the girl had a creepy obsession with the character I was cosplaying, creepy by her standards (she was goth, I didn't question it), and explained the entire history of this girl's OC to me. All the while the three other girls were looking at her like she had just blabbed the biggest goddamn secret on the face of the planet.

I didn't question it, I'm a pretty go-with-the-flow person, but unless this girl was the greatest goddamn actress ever to live I'm inclined to believe her.

Friday night at AB 08, The Pillows were preforming. Anime Boston staff was incompetent not prepared for the number of people showing up on that one day. People waiting in the registration line FOREVER. Literally the entire day. Some people actually waited over 11 hours and were then told to come back the next day, because registration was closing.

The outlines of the line were drawn on the floor in tape, which, over the course of the day, people decided to write on with things like "I born and died in this line." (If anyone has pics of that, please do post...)

Event lines were also exceptionally horrendous the entire weekend.

Oh man I'm just back from a con and I met some really weird people.

The worst was probably this girl in a sērā-fuku who, during the cosplay competition, got up on stage with some Hetalia cosplayers and started shouting about how they had bullied her into going up there and she was a hero. I think. The crowd was all as bit speechless but clapped none the less when they left. She then got up on stage again with another group and shouted about how they "rocked my socks and everyone elses socks." and other equally cringe worthy phrases. She tried to get on stage ANOTHER time after that but luckily the con manager stopped her. It was just bizzare. I'd noticed her earlier getting up on stage when no one else was there and dancing. I guess people just let go a bit at cons.

I went to Anime Boston 08, then ACen 08. AB I was lucky and went Thursday to grab my badge. ACen I was not so lucky.

Anyway, this story was from that Anime Boston. It's late Saturday, I'm chilling at my friend's Artist Alley table since she'd otherwise be alone because everyone else was off at the masquerade. And what do I see walk through the alley but a couple in full bondage gear (not just things like handcuffs and a collar), one leading the other (or being lead? I didn't want to look too hard) on a chain, complete with both doing awkward "we are role playing something" types of walking. This was before the masquerade let out, likely around 8 or so, so there were probably plenty of kids still walking around the con. If you have to take that shit out of the bedroom (please don't if you're at an anime con, please) at least do it when it's only adults awake.

The only real WHAT THE FUCK moment I have had at a con was when some crazy weeaboo bit me.

I just had met this girl who was crawling around on the ground (and by met I mean I said "oh hi" ) and I was helping my brother put on a costume piece when she crawls up behind me and BITES MY CALVE while going "rawr! Zombiee!". It was hard enough to leave a big honking bruise for over two weeks!

I smacked her away from me and was like " BITCH! WHAT IS FUCKING WRONG WITH YOU!?" all I got for a reply was meek "oh, i didn't mean to bite that hard". NOT THE FUCKING POINT BITCH.

I told her she was damn lucky I didn't kick her in the face because that was my first thought and I held it back. SOME PEOPLES CHILDREN.

They should seriously run like an panel or two on what not to do at cons. Don't be creepy and don't be an ass. For some these cons are a chance for them to let go. Problem is they really let go. And people showing off their FUPA's are bad.

Friend of mine who is in his twenties nearly got in trouble for being a victim of this, because an adult saw and the girl tried to say he made her do it. I posted this one awhile back, but I find it to be a definite wtf moment.

Last year at Youmacon I decided to go to the restroom, which wasn't that big of a deal. Until I got into the stall. I hadn't realized it, but I had been hearing this heavy breathing in the stall over. So I looked over to find a pair of massive gym shoes [you could tell it wasn't a woman in them] just standing in the stall. It was so creepy, I half expected this dudes head to peek over the stall to take a peek, so I srys'd the fuck up and bolted out of there as fast as I could.

Well, this is my WTF?? Moment, was at a con in Pennsylvania and it was 1-3 in the morning, was passing by a rave dance when all of a sudden one girl is drug out by the cops with another girl and one boy (or possibly another girl, it's been a few years since this happened)

The cop gives me a quick, dirty look and asks if I was part of this, I told him "no, I was just passing by".

Seems that the girl was part of this one group that was going to kick the other groups asses and she jumped the gun a little early. Turns out the cop was asking me because the other group was supposedly outside the rave waiting.

I tried bothering my friend who works on the security staff about it, but he was being tight lipped.

I did security team for Afest 07'. Apparently the cops were around looking for some pedo. I'm standing at a Door doing my shift when I see two cops chasing some older guy in a super baggy white shirt. I step in his way and wrap up with the guy so the cops can get ahold of him. Immediately afterward two more cops arrived and put me in cuffs. I spent 40 minutes in handcuffs until the Security Director came and made them let me go. Wasn't really the convention's fault but I was freaking out at the prospect of being charged with assault for stopping someone that was resisting arrest.

Was young, 15. Walked in with cat ears, t-shirt and jeans. Every event was in a hotel room except 'artist alley'. Room had about 30 people, all males. All but 5 or 6 of them were at least 25. Most of them were fat. Room smelled like the end of a rave concentrated in a very small space. Everyone stopped talking and whatever they were doing and stared at me. Turned around without a word and walked out.

I told this wonderful story before, but I never get tired of it.

I was cosplaying Light, from Death Note. Really shitty cosplay, put up by a friend that OMG WANTS TO BE L BECAUSE L IS SO SEXY. So me and a Misa tag along and go to a local con.

A lot of weird things happened, not mentioning the observation of the weeaboo fauna.

I got a dozen of people in their knees praying to me "oh holy RAITO-SAMAAAA" I actually liked that.

But the top of the cake... By the end of the day we were returning and suddenly a fat and bald goth appears out of the shadows. I was chained to L at that moment, because L finds it sexy. First con, I cosplayed as Vincent Valentine. Crazy fangirl bitches were glomping me. After a while I got sick of it. One ran up to me to glomp me and I stepped back just far enough where she fell on her face. Felt good

Katsucon 2010..

Projectile vomit.. and just vomit everywhere.

So this was my first out of state con when I was 16. I went with a friend of mine, and my dad would drop us off at the convention site for the two days we went.

The first day we decided to cosplay as Edward Elric and Winry Rockbell. It was a con mostly focused on video games, but we still met some people that knew who we were. Then the madness happened.

The fist one was this guy, who had the flammel/ cross with the snake on the back of Ed's coat on his shoes. He ran over to me exclaiming that, my alchemy was useless against him because he had those on his shoes, and that only he could attack me. To which I responded by turning around and showing him the symbol on my back and saying that his must be useless against me too. That shut him up for awhile and he left.

The second was a Miroku cosplayer. He seemed pretty nice at first, so my friend and I were chatting with him. When all of a sudden, he picked my Winry up, dragged her over to a group of his friends, where they sandwiched her in a hug and wouldn't let her go until we said we had to drop something off in my dad's car.

Later in the evening I had to leave for a bit to vist my Grandpa in the same area as the con, leaving my Winry to have fun at the con still. When I got back, she told me how the Miroku was looking for me the whole time.

As the con was winding down, she and I were sitting in a chair, talking, and this little... Raver Kid? Emo? I don't know. Came over and sat on my lap and tried to give me a lap dance, I kinda shoved him off and he went on his merry way. Then Miroku happened. He sat in front of me, either hands on my knees, trying to slide them up further, I blocked him by putting my own hands up as a guard, and he started asking if he could take us home, because we were so cute. We refused and tried to laugh it up. Then he bit both my friend and I on the knees, HARD. Giggled, and ran off. We were both pretty freaked out at that point. THEN a few minutes later, he comes running back with this giant cluster of people, screaming, "KATAMARI BALL" and tried to suck us into it, they got my Winry, then when they caught up to me, the Miroku looked at me and said, "You're not going anywhere Ed!" With a creepy smile. We hightailed it out of there after that.

And now another story involving the flammel guy. He ended up coming to kind of a lame con in my state, and was cosplaying "Akatsuki Naruto" or some nonsense. I was cosplaying Sakura at the time with my group when he came over and was like, "HI SAKURA-CHAN" and was being generally annoying. Talking about, how the Akatsuki had let him in because of his special powers, yadda, yadda. And everytime he'd see me it'd be the same "SAKURA-CHAN" and he'd ask for a hug, finally I was like, "No more hugs, okay?" And he started to 'pout' and look all butt hurt, I didn't particularly care, because he was being obnoxious and annoying me and all of my friends, he tried to hug me again, after I'd said no and so I punched him in the arm, after looking shocked that I'd acutally hit him, he put on his butt hurt act again and whined "Sakura-channnnnnnn" but I ignored him and he went away.

And I'm spent.

A con I was recently at was ruined by a bunch of weeaboo fags hold a huge sign saying "FREE HUGS" and "THE GAME". Ugh I hate that. then they all stood in a circle like they were kids at their local community center disco and did the caramel dansen. It made me ashamed to be associated with such faggotry.

The last local con i went to in a nutshell, thankfully I wore my stormtrooper, which at the time had enough room in the helmet for earbud headphones so i didnt have to listen to the horrid singing the entire time i was in the artist alley.

Anime North 06. During the dance, a bunch of guys built this wicked "citadel" out of the plastic water cups. After people were done marveling over it, some guy decided to jump into it, and destroy it. The citadel was in front of a wall. A very solid wall. The guy starts shaking and shit, and we all think he's kidding. Turns out he was actually pretty hurt.

I think it was the same year, but it could have been 05, a "friend" of mine "collapsed" in the lobby, and they had to call paramedics. The thing is, the broads a total attention whore, and she's pulled shit like this before. She claimed to have had a mini heart attack, despite the fact that she'd have been around 18 at the time, and super thin.

Not the conventions fault at all, but AN 07 we got a bit drunk in our hotel room, and some girl hurled. They did not clean it up properly. The room smelled of puke for the entire weekend, and there was a big nasty stain in the floor. It was nasty.

Last AN, the pipes in the hotel we were in broke, and our floor flooded. Thankfully I have a habit of putting all my stuff on my side of the bed during the day, but others weren't so lucky. Our compensation? Free breakfast. It was disgustingly humid when I finally got there as well. Really gross.

Some otherwise forgettable con I went to, someone pulled the fire alarm. No one at the con tried to exit in an orderly fashion. This was especially WTF? because this happened shortly after 9/11, and the convention hotel is practically under the landing pattern of a huge airport.

Former constaff here. You don't know drama until you have to work with 30+ people who devote dozens to hundreds of hours to something they hate for sole purpose of feeling superior to the thousands of people who attend it.

As one of the only staff members who actually attended the con before becoming staff, I can safely say that the staff of any anime con needs to be purged after about five years lest they grow angry, bitter, and remarkably defensive when their way of doing things is questioned.

I have a WTF story.
I am sure some of you have heard the rumors about people having sex in the elevators of the the Sainte Claire Hotel after the 2007 or 2008 Fanime (I forget which pretty sure 2007 though). Well that was me, and we weren't having sex. I was trapped in there with a psychotic guy who was having a breakdown after learning that I *GASP* had sex with my boyfriend of a year and a half!

NDK 2008, a friend and I got in the only working elevator on our side of the hotel. It was very crowded inside. There was a furry, a huge black guy and a group of preteen weaboos. My friend was in an awful mood and it only got worse when the weaboos decided it would TTLLY AWSUM to jump in the elevator. They started jumping, causing me and the furry to freak out. My friend snaps, tells the fuckers to stop and when we reached the next level, the black guy shoved 'em out.

Thank God they had elevator security the following year.

I quit after day one.

Goddamn, that day is possibly the worst I have ever spent at a con.
The worst part was watching the door... with no security or help at all, so basically not only did I have to stamp and do all the entry fee stuff for people entering I had to try check the wrist bands of people reentering from outside to check if they had already paid already, since you had 10 fucking people walking in and out at any given moment, it turned into quite the futile attempt to try do everything at once.
The worst part is at the end of the day the rest of the staff ganged up on me because people who had not payed had gotten in and they had a major bitchfest about it.

The worst part is I was not even supposed to be on the door at all, as the only reason I was part of the staff was due to the fact that I was hosting a vidya tournament later on during the day, it was sort of a they grabbed me at the last moment to watch the door type of thing because they were short on staff, and I had stupidly accepted to help them out.
