I've never had any bad experiences there, so I like it.

Was my first con-environment experience. Let me tell you now, if you don't have an above-average outfit there, no one will give you a second glance.

Other than that, was definitely a lot of fun. Now that I'm more experienced at con-going, I think I'll have a lot more fun this year.

I tried to make it to Fanime last year, but kept getting pushed back.

It's a nice fan run con.

Could really use some bigger guests, but the panels and mood and video rooms blew away anything AX has had to offer for the last 4 years.

I air-mailed my cosplays to my hotel at Fanime. Was a blast.

The con itself is fun, which is surprising to say about cons these days.

Can't say too much about the panels, the arcade room is great, and the dances are arguably the best I've ever been to.

The only thing that sucks is the limited night-time party atmosphere. AX beats Fanime at this, and more of my friends go to AX than Fanime, but I would reconsider if hotels weren't so anal about parties.

Quiet drinking amongst 5-6 friends in one room isn't too bad, though. But if Adrian-the-bartender goes to Fanime...shit, I gotta be there.

I've been going for years, since I was a young'in, and the age range, at least now for me, is quite right. While there is still a strong underage crowd, like all cons, there certainly is an element of college/mid 20's people around that is lacking at many other conventions. Take Sakura-con for instance, which is designed for a much younger audience. The feeling of fanime is just overall better and it's a slightly older crowd.

Though I haven't met anyone special, nor was I really looking, plenty of fun flings and friends I've picked up over the years. The game run is usually awesome and hentai nights are always hilarious.
