I'm a student. Studying statistics with a minor in actuarial science. I don't have a job - had one for the better part of my first two years in college, but had to stop because my grades were dropping. I have a 100% scholarship that I can't fuck up. Now I tutor in math once and a while making $25 an hour. I pretty much live off of grant money, which sucks because it only comes once a semester.

Student, I don't really do much costuming much nowadays since I'm about to graduate from community college hurhur, but when I do, I save whatever money I get as a daily stipend from my pops that I don't use for food and savesavesave. I also do wigs on the side and sell shit on ebay to fund, also have a sugardaddy that buys fabric for me when he wants to do something together.

Studying liberal arts with a concentration in the social sciences, and am applying to the University of Pittsburgh's School of Social Work for my BSW and then later on my MSW.

Culinary student starting last semester this upcoming week. I currently work in a grocery store bakery (oooh glamorous), but the hours are so agreeable with my school schedule that I can't complain.

I have to cut back on costumes, though, since hours DO get slashed once school starts back up... but they're very lenient on me taking time off for cons and I doubt once I actually start out in a real restaurant I'll get that kind of freedom.

Graphic Design student. I have another year before I graduate. For the most part I try and save, take advantage of coupons and look for any kind of deal I can get on cosplay supplies.

But for money I work at EB Games (same as gamestop, but we're stuck with EB title right now because of a lease). The pay sucks, but I'm sort of stuck right now because I haven't been able to find another job.

Student. I have student loans and I work for my university as a video librarian and a writing tutor. It doesn't pay tons, but I shop for sales like a mad person so I can make it stretch quite a ways.

Which is why I'm just now beginning on a cosplay that I bought the dress fabric for three months ago when it was on super sale--I just found linen for the jacket on sale this week.

I work at a salon part time to get most of it, sense it's a really high quality salon and one of my family members owns it I can work weird hours so I have time to do homework and stuff. It pays pretty well for a part time job at $15 dollars per hour. So I can cover pretty much anything with just that.

i'm a service clerk at a drug store saving up to go to school. The hours are pefect for e once I start uop school seeing how they always have e there from 4-10 sometime they'll rarely call me and ask if I can start before 4.

3rd year student in anthropology, with any luck graduating next winter or spring.

I have a shitty on-campus job, but it pays decently enough that I can fund my costumes and smoking habit. I also sell shit and ocassionally do art commissions on the side for extra cash. I'm considering opening an etsy store but I'm terrible at coming up with some kind of product to sell.

Musician. / Student at a special musicschool. Get paid about $1600 a month to practically do nothing. The few things are do, involve stuff I love doing.

I'm a student, not exactly sure what I'm going for at the moment. It's going to either be Storyboarding, Audio Production, or Visual and Motion Broadcast graphics.
As for work I work at my schools registrar's office, I'm a clothed modeled for figure drawing sessions, and I do art (small pieces and sometimes I get jipped into helping paint murals :\) and cosplay accessory commissions on the side.

But sigh. Currently unemployed, but picking up oddjobs when I can, leeching off the parents, and making armor for the SCA as a side income. I'm taking a few online classes and teaching myself kanji (took two years of moonspeak but suck at moonrunes), plus I'm always studying at the library (I fucking love history)

Full time student, majoring in American Sign Language and going towards a teaching degree. I hate kids, so i'll be teaching high school English for a few years until im ready to teach ASL.

I'm a professional student, I'm graduating with my BA this semester and going on to get my PHD. I live on my own and don't get any money from my parents so I relay solely on financial aid (grants and loans) to pay rent and expenses.

To make extra money, I sell things on ebay, Etsy, Amazon, and craigslist. I also sell Avon and do kgb, (I'm the person answering your stupid texts). None of those things alone make much money, but when you combine them all it really adds up.

i'm just finishing my degree in visual arts (eg graphic design, illustration etc). Other than freelance graphic design work, i also design tattoos and do illustrations and portraits. I work part time in a pub to pay for my costumes and the freelance work helps me build a good reputation for when i apply for a proper job.

I'm a student. For some reason, the university decided to not award my po' broke ass financial aid, so i paid out of my own pocket. i work at Disney World on the weekends, and it barely pays for my gas to and from school. so costumes are here and there. and i never finish them. shitsux

Work at a pharmacy...filling pescriptions and hearing old peoples health issue and cussing with insurance companies. Its stressful but it makes the money I suppose.

Currently VP of Operations for a startup blog network and software development house based out of California. I also freelance as an audio engineer and music producer.

First-year theatre student. I'm basically chained to school so there won't be time for a job til mid-April.

I've become a master at Macgyvering the shit out of things and cannibalizing pre-existing clothes and recyling and re-using and revamping whatever pieces I can. A lot of my most recent stuff is cannibalised pieces from thrift stores and the like. And I make sure any civilian clothes I get I can use practically as everyday wear as well.

I actually find it pretty easy to find characters I like with simple hair, which saves on wigs. And my cousin is a stylist, so I can figure out how to use my own hair without looking like balls.

My parents love that I do the hobby and encourage it, so they don't find financing some of the things I do, provided I'm not asking for exhorbant amounts.

Bioengineering student, working toward an undergraduate degree. I currently have no job and they're pretty tough to come by in my state's economy.

I borrow sewing machines and spend a lot of time buying materials with a billion coupons and making high quality-looking costumes. That way I can keep selling my old cosplay stuff at a break-even point after attending one or two cons. The money just basically cycles from one costume to the next.

Student, studying IT majoring in multimedia, working the same crappy part-time job I've had since high school, but it pays the bills. I don't cosplay so much that I need a heap of money for it, so I get by.

I have about year left in college. I'm studying fashion design, so at the end of each semester, there's a huge dump of free fabric, I've learned how to draft patterns, and I get discounts at fabric stores. Other than that, I just save money, since I only go to two cons a year.

I work retail, it's a bitch but I have super flexible hours which gives me time to hit the slopes and make cosplay. I set aside money for costumes and cons and don't buy everything at once. I hit up the sales. This fall it's back to school for me to get my MFA in Illustration.

Undergrad student, studying human genetics. This year government grants and scholarships paid my tuition in full, and my dad covered my other school-related expenses (textbooks, equipment, transit passes, etc.). I work a minimum wage job during summer. Since I only get ~$2500 overall, I plan my costumes for the next year as early as possible and only buy fabric when there's a 66% off or a Buy 1, Get 2 (sometimes 3) Free sale. I also try to get as much as possible for as little cost as possible off eBay.

Anime North has a Nominoichi, so I sell manga, DVDs and figures that I don't like anymore for extra con spending money. I usually make about $120 there, and buy cheap manga from some of the others.

I am a student studying applied linguistics. Unfortunately, right now I don't have a job, but still have some saved up from summer work. Luckily I only really go to one con a year.

I am head of purchasing at a company that manufactures luxury bedlinens, duvets, etc. Also do a little bit of design work for them.

I only just started cosplaying again a year and a half ago; before that I was on a 3 year haitus while I was in school studying fashion design. That left me with 0 time to costume, and $0 anyway. Before that...I don't remember. I guess Mommy and Popsicle paid for all my costume and con expenses, because I didn't get a job until I was in college.
Started cosplay/congoing when I was 16, 23 now.

I studied to become a Computer Engineer, but in spite of doing fine at it, I dropped off it before finishing and went hikikomori.

I have no interest in killing myself yet no interest in doing anything at all... except lurk cgl, and a couple forums here and there.

I sometimes make cosplay props as commissions for pocket money and sometimes I write software as a freelance for a small company of a friend, but I wouldn't call this a job.

I'm a graphic designer at a marketing studio, and I still do this stuff. Actually, I didn't really get into it until after college. Time constraints do suck, but I have a lot more disposable income to devote to projects now.

Most of my professional contacts know about my hobby, and they think its pretty interesting. Dorky, yes, but still cool from a design and construction standpoint.

Right now Im going into my second spring semester of school. I work for the school typing in numbers and data thats suppose to help them keep what is coming in and out organized. It seems like such a huge process just to order some stuff.
