The only saving grace was that she had a decent (keyword: decent) body and wasn't a whale like I was expecting to see, and that she didn't choose to try a Japanese song.

Here's my opinion:

Her audition was pretty bad. She indeed picked the wrong song for her voice. She was pretty much belting out the entire thing. I can maybe see her sing lower pitched songs, but that's all what I've observed from this video. I thought that she'll be extremely out of tune, but no just a simple untrained voice. She got some notes right, but some are just arrrgh. I thought she's gonna lose her voice after hearing that.

Grade Audition: D+

As for the little montage at the beginning, I was ok with the explanation otaku thing (even though I hate that word). And then I saw the Naruto jacket and then they showed part of her doing the Hare Hare Yukai. I head desked.
