The sort of people you want to punch in the face on sight for just being so fucking stupid and ruining your convention/expo/whatever the fuck you attend.

Pic related, the bitch just randomnly angers me. If she's dumb enough to flash her panties at a camera, she's asking for them to be publicized.
What makes you rage at a convention, /cgl/, and how do you stop yourself from telling someone to their face that they're a total waste of space? Me, I rant to my friends.

    Here, have the video link.

I can't stand the sheer level of awkward people who feel the need to dance publicly at cons to animu songs.Take OP for example. There is NOTHING complicated about the choreography of Motteke Sera Fuku, yet they fail so bad, I have to wonder... why bother??? For example, the choreography where Konata is hopping on one leg, her arms are waving in circles... It's pretty damn obvious, yet these girls are just flailing their arms up and down. If you are THAT bad about interpreting choreography, don't dance at cons. It's sad.

I know I sound like some sort of elitist animu dance or Para Para fag, but I'm not. I'm just a former dancer who CAN'T STAND THE AWKWARD.

I hate seeing midriffs when they really shouldn't be shown. I mean at cons, people who aren't even cosplaying just show up in really slutty clothes and parade around like they look really good and edgy.

More skin is only sexy if you're not fat and pale.

Oh hey, I don't feel like making a thread, but what do you think about people who do the dances well? A friend and I are going to cosplay Akira and Minoru from Lucky Star, and I thought it might be funny to learn the dance for the two of us to perform. I would make sure we knew it well and could do it to perfection.

I know plenty of "former" dancers (particularly ballet dancers)... A lot of the really devoted ones can't keep dancing after a point because it puts so much strain on your body (and surprisingly ends up with a lot of broken bones).

Most of the dancers I know who are aspiring to dance professionally know that they won't have long careers because of it. It's really kind of sad...

The fact that many fans don't realize that the popular anime dances and dance trends make you look double pathetic if you're doing them alone. Seeing the Haruhi dance already is pretty sad but only one person doing it just makes it even worse

I was browsing the sales booths, with my girlfriend one hand, when some random hideous skank just starts squeeling and yammering away at me like we're best friends.

"OMG they have the Pretty Princess Boys manga! You SOOOOOO have to get this it's the best thing I have ever, EVER read!! I won't let you go until you buuuuuuuy iiiiiiit."

Me, being the gullible idiot that I am, actually think that it's some ironic gag manga and read the back:
"A pair of twin boys become accepted to the Pretty Princess Academy by mistake... or are they? The brooding Dildoro and lively Bottom-chan are in for the craziest crossdressing adventure of their lives!"

I've never wanted to hit a woman so much in my life.

The thing that pisses me off the most at cons at the moment is people with the urge to spout out bad memes to be "OH SO RANDOM."

Hearing "Buttscratcher!" being screamed every minute gets old by Friday night.
Hearing an aimless game of Marco Polo gets old after an hour or so.
Hearing any reference to The Game makes me want to rip out a live lolita's liver, choke the nearest neckbeard by shoving fava beans down his throat, and shatter the offender's skull with a bottle of Chianti.

(Substitute Otakon 2009 memes for your preferred con's similarly horrible equivalent.)

I don't think I've EVER seen an animu dance done well. It's like they learn just enough to take cues off of eachother and call it a day. These dances are not that complicated, is it so hard to dance them while maintaining eye contact with the audience.

    >>2470191

Oddly enough, I don't have to substitute memes. And I'm on the other side of the country. I do not like this.

You know, guys, one way to go about getting people to stop being retards is to lay it on the line to them. Some middle school girl in shitty face makeup and pipe cleaner antennae that was supposed to be a Heartless tried to run off with my sitar at the last convention I went to. The damn thing was so big compared to her tiny size (because it's scaled to me and I'm 6') that she couldn't get away fast enough, and I promptly walked right up, took it from her, and told her "You don't walk up and try to run off with other people's things. I could haul your ass to con security right now for trying this. Don't do it again." and then I sat it right back where she had taken it from and continued on with the conversation I was having with the rest of my group.

That was probably the most liberating feeling I had all weekend, putting an out-of-line lolrandum MS girl in her place. Conventions do not mean that the normal rules of society don't apply, and if someone has to be reminded of that then I will remind them.

    1. The unwitty, unfunny, obnoxious people shouting when it's not appropriate.

    2. Raves. Might as well put a bass line on loop and leave the turn table there while you go smoke a fattie.

    3. Druggies/drunkards. I'm getting so sick of these kids. Might as well have a paddy wagon and an ambulance ready outside to drag them out of the con.

4.Yaoi and yaoi accessories. It's been proven none of the yaoi fans can behave in public. Why even sell yaoi in conventions when it attracts a horde of aspies? Why even let said aspies in conventions anymore? :/ Kick their asses out and take out the cancerous lump that is yaoi from conventions forever.

5.People who damage cosplays through some sort of retarded prank or from glomping. Give the cosplayer one good reason why they shouldn't ring your neck and choke slam you?

    this.
The very first con I attended in 1998 I went to the dance and liked it. Lots of fun. I was like "Wow that party was sure fun last year i wonder what they will do this year"
I walk in and its the same thing and I say "well it was popular, so why not, lets dance!"

The next year I come in and it's the same thing and I am all indignant saying, "Come on! this isn't the only music in the world."
And I never attend a con rave after that.

Then we got Cosplay Balls. Which was a nice welcome change of pace for a while.
Two problems with that though. Few teens attending cons don't know how to properly dress themselves for a nice dance. Even fewer know how to dance outside of hopping around to a fast beat or twirling glow sticks around.

My solution is to just have a GOOD dance. Mix it up, there are songs EVERYONE likes to dance to.... so throw some Daft punk in there with some Justin Timberlake and them some YMCA and then Twist and Shout. Then toss in some anime songs that have great beats like some Initial D music or Macross remixes.
Everyone will have fun and hear "their fave" music at some point.

Hell no. You hear this same repetitive shit at every dance. I want to go to dance where we listen to new artists, songs that you don't hear a lot, etc. And then mix in the new music and some old favorites.

People that scream and people that run. It's like everyone in a con loses the meaning of "social acceptable behaviour" because they are surrounded by other idiots just like them. I usually stop them and tell them that if they cannot behave they should go home and watch Hamtaro, but it only works for 2 minutes, when they lose sight of me they are back to running and screaming.

Thanks for repeating what I just said.
    >repetitive shit at every dance
    >some old favorites

YMCA and Twist and Shout ARE old favorites. They are played all the time because people like them.

That's the appeal of those dances. Everyone feels like joining in cause they know how it goes.
It's cool to play new things but it can subconsciously make people wary when a beat changes and they feel silly out of sync.
So yeah, new stuff is cool but too much of it and people leave the dance floor.
