bring your fucking kids. if someone is under the age of 16, they should
not be at an anime con after it gets dark. if you can manage to get
your kids to be somewhere else after that time, it's okay. drinking
at a con is going to happen. people are cutting loose and silly
behavior will occur which not everyone likes. however, like any other
situation, drinking should be done carefully. if you drink until you
hurl, pass out, or start making extremely embarassing social moves like
sleeping with an extremely ugly person or making highly personal
delarations... you are doing it wrong. many people from my generation
do not seem to know this. it's not a contest, and it can actually be
dangerous to have too much to drink. the goal is to get an amazing buzz
and keep it going for as long as possible. not to pass out and choke to
death on a puddle of your own puke. do not do this and try not to let
your friends do this. when did con dances become "raves?" they
didn't used to be. people have more diverse tastes in music than just
happy hardcore and youtube memes. since it's an anime convention, can
we at least get some danceable jpop and jrock? i personally hate most
happy hardcore and pure electronic music, but i put up with it. but at
the last con i was at, the dj felt pressured to include only that type
of music, obviously knew nothing about it, and as a result played the
same list of about 30 or so songs over and over both nights. i felt
like i was listening to a top 40 radio station from hell. we are not
ravers. most people are not taking x. many weeaboos are out of shape
and may hurt themselves trying to jump up and down repeatedly for 4+
hours. can we just accept this, stop trying to jump on the next cool
thing bandwagon and move on with our lives?
