However, you DO have a right to your likeness; if somebody posted a picture of you in costume with the caption "Carol has a costume fetish and can be seen here at a hotel to engage in sex acts in public" that's defamation and you'd have grounds to sue. For all practical purposes, almost any photographer worth their salt won't want to bother with somebody who asks them not to use their photo. The problem is mainly drunks who can't control themselves. I usually get pretty buzzed one night of the con and then don't drink at all the rest of the con. Usually it's around friends only in a hotel room, but in some instances it is at the bar. However, getting totally smashed beyond your limit and having no self control and/or acting in a destructive manner is ridiculously unacceptable. Friends really need to let people know when they need to stop. I know my limit. I know when it's time to call it a night and go back to the hotel room; others do not and end up making fools out of themselves.
