09/08/09(Tue)13:55 No.2127231I
was really irritated that it took 4 fucking months for Kumoricon to get
back to us about our table in the dealer's room. We had to send them
two emails REMINDING THEM that they were supposed to get back to us
about the dealer's room. It took a total of 5 months for us to get
booked in the dealer's room, which is ridiculous. In our row alone,
there were 3 completely empty stalls, so it's not like they were
horribly busy. Another vendor I talked to was ignored in the same way.
By the time we had been confirmed for the dealer's room, pre-reg had
closed and I had bought a badge thinking that something, ANYTHING at
this con would be worth going to. So there's $40 wasted.
When my
coworker went down to check in for the table, the staff was horrible
and rude, yelling at him for absolutely nothing. The dealer's room
being in the garage made it impossible for me to contact my boss (who
was working a booth at PAX), or anyone for help. So, that was also
fucking horrible.
The Dealer's room staff was very hesitant to
give me an extra badge for our table (we only got 2) so that I could
have someone help me carry our shit out of the convention center. The
same staff lady put up a fight when my overweight friend with a knee
that was fucked up from a car crash asked to use the elevator because
her knee was a swollen mass of pain visible through her pants.
Kumoricon
would not refund the badge that I bought. I never used it, or even
checked the damn thing in. I should have, and sold the thing to some
underaged kid.
Kumoricon, I feel betrayed and offended. It was
my favorite con, my home-con, the first one I ever attended. Unless
something changes, I don't see myself going back. Going to PAX the day
before reminded me of how cons really should be. Well run, friendly,
helpful staff, great venue, NO FUCKING REGISTRATION LINE FOR PEOPLE WHO
