Holy fuck a duck. What day and what time was that line up? I was there on Saturday and managed to pass the skywalk guard blocking anyone going in and forcing them to go outside if they wanted tickets. That guard was only allowing people out and not in to the con via the skywalk. I happened to know someone working at Union station and the railtracks. Got on the phone and called up and word went over the wire to a friend then a friend of a friends contact hailing a worker in close proximity of me to come up and escort me in by passing the guard as I gave him the two finger wave.

Forgot to note I didn't pay shit to enter the con. My Union station and rail track friend with his worker contacts had someone working there come up and escort me past the guard which everyone else had to walk outside and into the con. The guy that escorted me was doing my friend a favor but also had business there to be going my direction as he needed to get some parts and took me under his wing ino the con. I bought all my stuff that I wanted and with the saved $25 I bought a pizza pie and gave half to the worker to take part if it back to my friend working then. Interesting note, there are 2 other back route ways into the con while I thoguht doors were locked but my contact said the doors are nomrally locked after hours but not during day hours. I asked about the signage and he said that's just to kepe people out without locking the doors.. Next time I'm pizza delivering my way in.

hmm I am surprised no cops went nuts at fan expo. After what happened about 1-2 weeks ago about the man in the union station with a crossbow. To the mans credit he did cover the crossbow top part but dood why didn't you cover the rifle stock end of the crossbow? Someone gun called that guy and the cops came running. didn't charge the guy but ttc booted him and the cops didn't charge and he got his crossbow back. I think the story was he just bought it from Central Surplus on Yonge St. which needs no licence other then 18+ to buy. Guy was like in his 40's I think. News video showed only the crossbow and no arrows. On one hand I like the lax weapons enforcement at fanexpo over animenorth and not needing the peacebonding. makes for more nice photos if you're taking pics of the cosplay and props but also opens up a danger area if someone wanted to open fire in the area. 2years ago I was at fan expo with my Remmy 870 just cleaned and lubed. No ammo on me. I also had a Glock 17 unloaded and with ammo. I was only passing by to buy some stuff at the con then return the gun to a friend of mine as I was shooting at the range. I am a private club member at the shooting range above union station. While at the con I ran into another person I shot with when I was in MI, USA and who also shoots at another range in Toronto. We talked and my Remmy topic came up and he wanted to check it out before I headed back to return the Glock to my friend who was on lunch then from the range. I showed him and it seemed no one flinched at the shotgun when I was showing it to him before packing it up again.

I think the ttc at union station knew the con was on so they let the weapons prosp slide withuot sacking the kids? IDK. I saw a Hellsing Rippy years ago with a working trigger and I think she used a old muzzle loader gun. If that was true then if you loaded, primed, and locked the gun you can in such close distance kill a person with the force coming of the muzzleloaders.

Never been to Toronto but reading the comments here I'm wondering if people can opening carry real guns at the con and mingle around. I'm from new york and if you did that the cops would hose you with bullets. I live about a 1.5 blocks from the world trade center and I witnessed the towers falling and being covered with the rush of dust as the towers fell. Seconding this, NYC has the strictest gun laws in the country. Can't do anything without a permit which is nearly impossible/too expensive to get and maintain. We don't even have toy guns anymore, at least not around my area.

Which is why I'm always so fascinated by traveling to other states with lax gun control, walk in, show my ID and some cash and I can walk out with a semi-automatic rifle. Its crazy. Oh well, God bless the USA.

That's the thing - cops see people with prop weapons and since Canada isn't full of retards who want to shoot everything that moves, they apply rational thought and realize that it's a prop in that context, whereas in the US they see it as a chance to shoot their guns and kill the person, thus securing their masculinity.

It's only a matter of time until the loophole is closed, and then it'll be illegal to use airsoft weapons for cosplay.
