Oh HAI /cgl/. Right now I'm just furious.

In the span of a single day I managed to see
    - 2 Hetalia cosplayers
    - 3 Getbackers Cosplayers (who were wearing GODAWFUL cosplays) at least the Hetalia cosplayers were good.
    - All 5 of these cosplayers were in the local asian mall. D=<
    - A huge group of "Free Hugs" people standing downtown and shouting at people who did not want a hug.

Post your RAGE stories of cosplayers/weeaboos/con bullshit (bonus points if "con bullshit" is occuring outside of a con a.k.a Free Hug BULLSHIT)

in b4 "we have a thread of this every week" because no shit. Us cosplayers have a lot of RAGE inside of us, that if not let out through semi-constant to constant bitching we would explode.

There's an anime club here in TN that does mall cosplay every weekend.

It wouldn't even be that bad if it was easily blendable-into-society costumes. But no. It's the outrageous shit.

I don't really have any rage.. though It would be nice if I wasn't fucking blinded by kingdom hearts cosplays. Sure, there are a few that are just totally awesome and deserve to wear their costume proudly, but most of it is like copypasta outfits that look like they were made off of some assembly line. >:| God damn it people, stop wearing the same fucking thing

Oh god, stuff like that happens in my school.

This guy wore a Bleach cosplay to school, it was such a freakshow. He had a cardboard sword too and had a shitfit when the teacher asked him to put it in his locker/throw it away. It was totally not a costume that you would think "oh that kid is just wearing strangly flamboyant clothes" It's a fucking robe thing.

I mean if it was Halloween I could MAYBE let it slide, but it was just a regular day. The anime con in my city had it's rave/dance that night but there is no reason to wear that shit to school.

makes me so embarassed to be an anime fan, especially since this weirdo was talking to me, since he heard I was going to the con and also liked anime. Oh god social suicide.
    >> Anonymous 08/30/09(Sun)20:51 No.2098874
I visited my high school on Friday, and I had thought that the freaks that wore cat ears and cosplay to school had died with my grade (only two who were like that, luckily) but there is a new group of annoying anime fans that are even worse. It's like they treat school as a convention. My old teachers told me they come dressed up every day and throw the biggest hissyfit if they are asked to take off something during class. One girl refused to take off her cat tail during a Chemistry practical and she fucking caught on fire and blamed the school. And they only eat 'omg pawky and onigiri! kawaii desu nee!" and they refer to each other as 'chan' and 'kun' and babble in 'Japanese' which is actually only the most basic of basic words and they harass the Japanese students to teach them Japanese and pretend they are best 'furendo' with them. And the worst part is that it's a group of like, 15 people.

I had half a mind to lecture them, but decided to wait until they inevitably get suspended for being so obnoxious and rude.
    >> Anonymous 08/30/09(Sun)20:52 No.2098876
I sad to say I don't have any cosplay rage at the moment because everything is coming into place with my costume.
Except for maybe when I was looking for Iron transfer paper for a dark shirt and when I asked a guy in a photo goods shop he told me he could do it on a white T-shirt for $25, what a rip-off.

Generally I'm not a very Rage-Filled person, but I was just having a very BitchyMood "I HateEverything" Day.

I was with an attractive asian guy friend who is very new to the city and when he saw them he was so confused and like "what are they doing?? Do you ever do this??" he knows I like anime and cosplay and I had to explain not all of us are weirdos like that. -sigh-

It just bothers me when people go into the asian super market all dressed up, like they think it's okay and normal to do it here. I never see people dressed up in the regular mall. It's kind of offensive that they think just because it's the "asian" mall people will tolerate them. Especially when they're being obnoxious and weeaboo.

I know exactly what you mean. Maybe one or two girls walked around with cat ears or those stupid animal hats, and a couple guys wore Naruto headbands but it really wasn't that bad.

This younger generation of anime fans is taking things to far now. My sister was telling me about how now in my old high school (her current school) people are dressing up all the time and acting like obnoxious pieces of shit.

She literally told someone "Fuck off you weeaboo piece of shit" (because she's way more bold than me) and they apparently just said in an annoying high-pitch "anime girl" voice "Waaaaaah! Kowaaaaaaai!!!!! Lindsay-chan is suuuu mean!"

I don't have any rage recently, since everyone in the city are weaboos and say they are proud of being otakus/freaks

Raging because they believe that having a cosplay gathering is an excuse to show up and have their shit in-character talk and making out.

I was actually very refreshed when I saw a young lolita working as a cashier at Mitsuwa two weeks ago, she was wearing melty chocolate bows and a simple Baby bolero <3

And weeaboos try very very very very hard to "act japanese", but really have only watched anime so they have no idea what being japanese is really about, and just do cliche animes things while spouting terrible japanese.

I was a pretty gigantic weaboo, primarily a yaoi fangirl, and perhaps that it what makes me so angry to see them nowadays, because it reminds me of myself. I phased out of it because one can only see so much gay sex and still be excited about it. (Not like I don't visit /y/ now and then, though.)

I was also one of those weaboos that would actually say SUGOI and KAWAII. Sadly I've gotten back into that habit, only because I'm majoring in Japanese (I ended up learning it after that stint) and say "ne" or "deshou" out of habit from speaking with the exchange students.

    >>I never see people dressed up in the regular mall. It's kind of offensive that they think just because it's the "asian" mall people will tolerate them.

Pacific Mall has stores dedicated to selling blatantly bootleg DVDs, so you could see how they might think the normal rules don't apply in a mall with blatantly criminal shops.

Being loud and annoying is the only thing that you should be getting sandy vag'd over.

And why is "asian" in quotes? Pacific isn't a normal mall that has some pocky for sale because it's an asian neighbourhood, it's an Asian theme mall that serves FOBs, some of whom who have no intention of ever learning English. It's about as asian as a mall could get in Canada.

Because many Asians like particular things not commonly available for sale, and would like to buy them? It's not that difficult a notion to grasp. Asians must be a safari-grade thing for you.

There's a korean boy band called super junior that had a 'free hugs' video in like 2007.

During the New People World grand opening in SF, while walking to the bus stop, my friend and I saw a really bad Kyon and a bad Haruhi cosplayer dancing to Hare Hare Yukai right outside some of the Japantown stores. The worst part was that the bus stop we were going to was right across the street from them, so we had to endure the torture until the bus came.

It's kind of ironis because I hardly ever see "free hugs" signs at cons in Australia. Maybe I'm just lucky?

It's true. We're lucky to get one or two at each con. And we don't get many glompers as far as I'm aware.

    Moving to Australia, brb.
In England we have too many to count, because basically MCM Expo is a hotspot for weeaboos etc.
Cosplaying as Mio was a nightmare. 'OMG MIO-CHIAAN MOEEE SO KAWAIEEE' I didn't expect it.

Oh I feel so sorry for you England and America peeps.

I've only ever had a glomping incident once, and I yelled at the person as they started to come near me so they slowed down a bit before they hit me and started apologising profusely. I told them off rather rudely, saying they could damage someone's costume that way before letting them leave, in tears. No wonder I have the best rep ever. Apart from that, neither my friends nor I have had ANY issues with glompers.

Last weekend I saw a windwaker Link randomly walking around a local mall. Pretty sure they had just done a photoshoot, but for the moment they were just chilling in front of Michael's. I...I exchanged cosplay.com information. Fuck, getting soft in my old age, OP.

I'm wearing classic lolita, and I spot a group of "lolified" Naruto cosplayers in frilly skirts, they look HORRIBLE
    I rage.
Random cosplayer passes by and shouts "fucking lolitas" to me and the group of Naruto-lolifail together.
    I rage again.

There's these weaboos at my school that used to "cosplay" every fucking day. The would sprinkle in their little wapanese talk and call eachother by animu names....and post it on Youtube.

Recently I've been seeing them walking around outside of school and hear that they're going to be at Kumoricon "cosplaying" Vocaloid.

So much RAGE has gone down this year >:C

At Fanexpo, there were a bunch of Hetalia cosplayers with large flagpoles with flags.

I was nearly hit in the face at least three times by them as they ploughed through crowded places. For fuck's sake, guys, don't bring them in the crowded places, save it for the shoots.
