    103 KB pre-con prep Anonymous 08/26/09(Wed)21:08 No.2086023
So I'm going to my first con for all three days, and it's in a week. I feel totally unprepared.

ITT: What do you guys do for pre-con prep?
Pic totally unrelated, but still awesome.

    1. Make sure costumes are done.
    If they aren't, FINISH.

    2. Make a list of EVERYTHING you plan on bringing.

    3. Check out on the forums for any meetups/photoshoots that you'd like to attend and make note.

    And that's pretty much it.

-Duplicates of buttons and other small fragile details
    -Tide to Go
    -Wisp Tootbrushes
-Makeup for touchups, including DEODORANT. So much deodorent.

I pack at least a week or more before the con. I make a check list of everything I need prior to packing and a separate list of the things I have to pack the day I leave (deodorants, tooth brushes, shaving razor, tooth paste, etc.)

Everything that I'm wearing gets washed prior to packing and gets folded and rolled up to save space in the suitcase. After everything is packed it goes all into one place, preferably the room closest to the front door and Never in my own bedroom.

I keep updated with whoever i'm rooming with on the status of others incase people drop out and prices change and I make sure I have my badge/badge info ready for pre registration

I also make a rough draft of what my plans are. just the basics of things I wanna do (panels, events, costumes, shoots, etc)

I always try to be ready for a con one week prior to it, so i can relax and not worry/stress out.

    why samples?
    >> Anonymous 08/27/09(Thu)01:27 No.2087151
ive made checklists of every costume. every tiny thing i need for each costume is checked off as it goes in the bag. the few times i didnt do this, i've left parts at home, and ruined my time at con. im kind of absent-minded, so i need lists alot.
i also bring those little sticky-note page marker tabs. theyre indispensible for organizing pocket programs at con.

I think he is referring to the samples, or the travel size ones that easily fit in your pocket. This way you can go to the bathroom quickly without going to the hotel to ward off fanboy smell which tends to start up every few hours.
