respect and totally support your right to have your opinion. and I
agree. Slapping on random clothing and not putting any effort into it
doesn't qualify it as a costume and that kind of stuff bugs me. I like
effort and a real design. not, oh hay, yellow shirt, pants and some red
paint on my cheeks, YAY IM PIKACHU. that kind of shit aggrivates me.
I
agree that stuff like that makes me rage more than the more "well done"
Gikinkas. But overall I'm still not a fan of it, like I said pokemon
are pokemon. Creative liberties, still have to be taken when you're
doing something fursuit/mascot style, if not more. You're transferring
something usually non-human looking to a fursuit/mascot. Sure people
are scared of being a furry, don't like the heat, or it just isn't
their thing, but its still accurate and will actually look like a
Pokemon.
I mean does this:
http://www.cosplay.com/costume/178331/ not make most of you rage?
Obviously even though the construction is nice and there was a good bit
of effort put into it, it still a lame idea. Its the exact same thing
with Gjinkas, but like inverted. Kuja does not look like a Neko or Wolf
or whatever, he looks like a human with a monkey tail and thats the way
it should be cosplayed if you want to do it right. Kuja is Kuja, not a
wolf.
There are few instances where "original designs" work, for
example Maguma, I think your Kamina Lagann is great. It just works, and
it makes some sense. Although I can't honestly say I can say the same
for your "Ginjinka Palkia". |
