Isn't that kind of hard to work with/cut though? :< I thought about using it as an base to work around, a skeleton of sorts, but I don't know what I'd use to cover it.

cardboard is easily cutable with a box cutter/exact-o knife. As for coating it you have a billion optios. Plaster/rigid wrap, paper maché, wonderflex, bondo, gesso, etc.

I make all my props out of cardboard. and they come out just fine.

Wonderflex? It bonds to cardboard skeletons well and it looks really nice when you paint it.

Not that hard if you use a box cutter or exacto. Working with it isn't that hard, and if you mess up you can get more since it's cheap.

You'll have to put something else on top of the wonderflex to get rid of the ducttape-like texture. I would suggest putting fiberglass resin on top of the cardboard instead.

if you use acrylic paints and get a few good coats on it you'll be fine.
