So I heard Vic is quitting conventions.

I remember finding a usenet or something similar mailing list post of his about how he wanted to use anime to 'save' people by teaching them about Jesus or some shit like that. I really need to find that again. Unfortunately that was like 4 years or so ago and would take ALOT more digging to find now than it did then.
