    Anime North stories.

I'll start. After standing in line for the J Pop dance for over an hour I finally get inside. I dance for a little while and generally have an okay time. While I'm getting a glass of water I feel a tap on my shoulder. This girls asks if I would like to dance with her friend. I agree and I see that her friend is really really cute. We hang out for over an hour just dancing and then making out. Finally she had to leave as she didn't have a hotel and it was getting late. I ask for her number but she says she lives up in North Bay.I still feel kinda depressed and ronrey ;_:

I enjoyed the daytime Saturday 404 show, the late night was lackluster. Instead of trying they just spouted memes and tried to cater to the Yaoi fangirls.

    Still a fun weekend though.

danced with some hot brothas at otakubaloo (stupid ass fucking name, but it was a good time), did an air hump line with a jester for like 2 hours that ended up in the outdoor rave, watched mario breakdancing

and there was this jerk ass in subway who wouldn't move for me, I was kind of near the back of the group at subway (not right at the counter, people between the counter and me) when my sub was going to be made, and i tried to politely (I'm female and short) ask him if I could move forward but he just bitched and bitched and bitched.

I was at the closing ceremony. If any of you were there, that guy with the Canadian Fold-up Chair? That's me. I was minding my own business when I first saw Mister Vic Mag. The man passed by my chair while chatting up with another con guest. I have to say, the first time hearing his voice. It sound nothing like I would have expected from VAing a prepubescent teen.

Pic related when I first heard his real voice. Jesus, he's got this beard thing going on too.

I tried going to the 'how to get a con girlfriend' panel.

Ten feet from the door, I get hit by the most horrible smell. I wade through it and open the door. It was like a sauna in there. A smelly, sweaty sauna packed wall-to-wall.

I spotted two cute girls dressed as Princess Peach and Princess Daisy, and asked to take their pictures. The batteries fell out of my camera, so my friend offered to take their picture. I got a nice little kiss from Peach afterwards, too.

Then, she asked if either of us had seen a Luigi around the area. My friend said he hadn't, but that he had gone to Anime North last year as Luigi 'if that counts' to humor her. She laughed.

When he opened his arms for a hug, she hesitated, gave him a light hug, and walked away.

"Just like always, Luigi, second best."

This guy was a twat. Insisted on telling me and others to move when we were at least a full 20 feet away from the BACK of an autograph session, for the sake of a line that hadn't started yet and wasn't due to start for at least another hour. Also kicked a friend out of line because she left for one minute to find me (I couldn't get there earlier due to a health issue), and even though her boyfriend was holding her spot in line, he refused to let her go back to the spot she was in.

I was the panhandling Mario playing rick astley and carameldansen on the guitar on Saturday morning. Made about 45 bucks. Played until my strumming thumb started to bleed (leaving pick at home + hangnails = fail), then got a bandaid from a cosplayer.

Then one of the staff politely reminded me that I was soliciting, so I stopped and hung out in front with some other guitar guys. Played an accoustic duet version of the Power Rangers theme song with this ridiculously skilled classical guitarist.

I paneled Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei at 7, then left to go home due to my annual "headcold peventing me from going to the j-rave/dance party" I fucking hate my immune system.

Oh, I have a WONDERFUL story. I went to sleep friday night with a sore throat. Ok, no problem. I can deal. I wake up Saturday morning with a fever. Well that sucks, I'll tough it out. But fever gets worse through out the day, and by 4:30 I can barely walk straight to get to my car, because everything is burning and my head is a cinder block. I hardly ever get sick. Why, of ALL the weekends in the fucking year..?

    at least I was wearing a mask almost all day, so I probs didn't sicken anyone else. ;_;

I cosplayed for the first time, as Char Aznable from the original Gundam. It got a surprisingly great reception. Outdoor rave was fun, but due to a mixup none of the people I came with went to the J-Pop dance, so it felt kinda awkward just dancing on my own and I left pretty early.

I never realized how different an experience cosplaying makes a con.

When Gurren Lagann started playing, people were fucking POURING into the room. It was packed, wall to wall. And it seemed like a lot of folks hadn't seen it before.

There was what looked like a couple in front of me, aged around 50 to 60. When Kamina first said, "Listen--Don't believe in yourself. Believe in me, who believes in you.", the man promptly turned to the woman beside him and started explaining that it was a theme within the show.

To the point where he was even putting his hands over my shoulders and motioning to her while I danced with her. Wanted to turn around and headbutt him.

Also, me and the same chick hung out in the hentai room for a bit. It was great. We were greatly amused by the crowd there, and hardly even paid attention to the porn. And, of course, when we were leaving.

"Ha ha, more guys are leaving to fap!"
    "Wait a second, it's a chick....and she's hot!"
    :"Come baaaaaaaaaaaack!"

15 minutes later, she ran back in and flipped her skirt in front of everyone. I told her I'd buy her a ramune and kind of forgot about it.

had a fantastic time at my 7th ANorth this year, ussually I spend too much time in the dealers room, but this year I spent like MOST of my weekend at panels, which is what I enjoy most, only actually ended up spending $13 on animu merch the whole weekend (and $30 on doll stuff). Haibane Renmai panel was like, the best I had ever been to, first half Anime Hell was entertaining as usual, Gaming was self-centered and bullshit as usual, only really paying attention to the people who spent all their time there. Kept up with my tradition of always going to "anime name that tune" and suggesting the anime was patlabor at least once. The ride home was nice this year, instead of the ussual "Goodbye ANorth D:" it was a nice gradual expirience, getting on the bus full of cosplayers, then getting on the subway with some of them, then transfering with a few of them... then riding home with one, then she leaves... augh, the end of sunday is so depressing, with evertyone outside for the most part, so much love to be missed the other 51 weekends of the year ._.

I just wish more of the hotties at the con exercised their right to bare their breasts (while on public property, anyway). Going topless while walking across the overpass would have been a much more effective way of getting cars to honk than shouting at them like idiots.

With the possible exception of some random probably-bootleg figures from the store in the middle of the east side that mostly sells posters and crap and only has figures in the front, I have NEVER seen any "deals" on anime figures at Pacific to haggle them down further from. The rough rule is that everything's at least double what it costs online. Like those cheap, crappy figures of Asuka and Rei in various fetish outfits that Sega keeps cranking out and go for like $20 everywhere? I had a generally a very good time. This was my second time at AN. I only bought American comics. Walked away with 17 trade paperbacks from the dealers for 217$ which is a really good deal.

To the people who were screaming at the cars to honk their horns saturday night: you were fucking retarded and made us all look bad.

I didn't spend a lot of time at panels. I was usually dragged by my friends somewhere else. : / Also, did anyone actually play the WoW Minis game tutorial 2 hour period on Sunday? It seems there was NO organization in that room and was very disappointed.

LOL, like they'd trust a round eye to help them hide their bootleg DVDs. Not that I'd be interested in helping them. I'd be happy to see them all busted into bankruptcy and replaced with more figure stores, or at least other cool unique asian mall stuff, instead of binders full of listings for movies which are TOTALLY LEGIT COPIES but they just happen to store them somewhere else. I am super pissed that the slightly used copy of Saints Row 2 i bought won't load. my xbox just goes "unable to read disk, clean with soft cloth". The disk itself is fine. By Sunday a lot of the boards were clean, including some of the more questionable ones.

The Samus Aran portrait was obviously gone, and I saw someone pick up the original "Kirby likes hats". The person packaging the thing was telling all the other staff to say goodbye to it.

No one cared about the pewter molds, or whatever they were made of. Probably not the best place to get those things auctioned.
