There was a girl at my school who regularly wore one of those alchemy jackets, too.

There was also another girl who regularly wore a Harry Potter scarf and Gryffindor coat.

I never meet anime fans in my area until Animania at Suncoast. Then they come in weaboo droves that squeal and scream and pet at you if you're cosplaying for the contest.

And it makes me sad that people are really that... That BLEGH in my town.

Yes actually I have the cheesiest pin on my hipster fedora.

I guess the pin isn't that out of place with my everyday wardrobe

...should i feel bad if i pulled stuff like this?

not really to 'cosplay' or anything, just cuz they were nice jackets, ie, not made by me. like prince of tennis jackets. hey, i was too lazy to buy another athletic jacket at the time...

I don't mind plain-clothes/closet cosplay in public when people are in a group. But full on costumes, can be a little weird.

My friend wears his Akatsuki Cloak around sometimes.
Apparently there are a bunch of girls that will bassically rape you if you wear one in the nearby town, they wear there's too. Rather scary that we have a local case of rabid-fangirl gangs.

There's a guy at my college who wear's Dante's coat every day, whatever the weather. Somebody came in one of those KH coats once.

I personally carry an FMA pocketwatch. Because I fucking love pocket watches. And all my other ones need new batteries, repairs, etc.

Oh! I wear mine all the time.
I at one point had someone ask me 'What is that chain?' in which I replied with the whole 'Oh, It's a pocketwatch, it's out of batteries though.' and he then got one out of his jacket pocket. I sort of squee'd a little inside.
I know it's contradicting to the character, but the fact he looked like Maes Hueghs a little made it better.

oh god...do I ever see this. besides the kids in the mall in full on naruto cosplay, I had a run in at my local JoAnn fabrics. I was getting my fabric cut, all the while hearing some fairly loud people in the room behind me. got my ticket, turned around... and there they were. Full on KH cosplayers, in their horrendous glory, fail wigs and all.... it almost made me want to turn around, hand my fabric back to the girl at the cutting counter and sulk myself out of the store never to return.

Not exactly cosplay but sometime before the cold weather comes back around, I want to get a Black leather jacket with the Gurren Lagann Emblem on the back of it.

I've gone places with my hair up like Sailor Moon, Clari from Violinist of Hameln, Edward Elric (not that a braid and long bangs really is much of a hair style), and Akane Tendo before her hair-cut. I've also worn bits of cosplay as the bits of clothing they're meant to be, mostly my Ed coat and shoes, and occasionally my Simon (gurren lagann) jacket.

Clothes be clothes to me, and only someone aware of what specifically I'm wearing would think me an idiot for daring to wear them in public. Public might think my clothing a bit odd at most in comparison, if they even noticed.
    >> Anonymous 05/19/09(Tue)15:30 No.1839548
In middle school I wore that heavy-ass Lucia pendant that came with Lunar 2 so much the gold part looks all dingy and rubbed off now. Closest I've gotten to cosplaying in public.

In high school some of the anime club kids wore Naruto headbands and gloves or that damn Edward Elric jacket. They also put together a "closet cosplay" day for one of the meetings.

My Lucia pendant is still in the faux velvet bag that it came in, I don't want that thing getting scuffed up.

Occasionally I'll wear my Ed coat in cold weather because my mom made it for me and it's gorgeous. I retired the costume a couple years back, but I don't want to stop wearing that nice coat.

Sometimes I'll wear my Pokémon gijinka stuff out, but it's more of a "I want to wear something comfy and warm" thing.

I went to a meeting at one of the local anime clubs a couple of years back and they told me that some of the girls would cosplay some of the anime they were showing. When I went it Ouran Host Club...um, yeah.

I personally have a few pins on my laptop bag and an ever-growing supply of cell phone charms that I hook onto everything that has a whole available. That's as close as I get to public non-con cosplay.

It was just last Friday that my friend and I were driving over to see some people across town and we were stopped at a light near a McDonalds. I look to my right and walking down the sidewalk without a care in the world is this hulking man-child, a real Baby Huey looking fucker twirling a Keyblade from Kingdom Hearts. My friend turns to see it and was just about to roll down the window and say something, but the light turned green and we took off.

I have people mistake me for wearing a Harry Potter scarf because my college's colors are maroon and gold but on the scarves they sell the maroon looks rather crimson. So I get people asking me where I got the Gryffindor scarf.

See, I don't really see much of anything wrong with wearing that sort of stuff around as long as it somewhat resembles regular clothing. I mean, it's far more interesting than some of the boring ass crap jeans/t-shirts most people wear. If it fits the season, why not?

Personally, since I'm at work all day & stuck in business casual, I have thought about making a few outfits based on some of Belldandy's clothing, since I think she's got some rather cute designs (Pic related). No, I wouldn't wear a wig around or try to be Belldandy and I'd be the only one who'd know about it but it'd be fun...at least to me. Don't judge me...I just like to sew. :<
