Hey there /cgl/. I'm dead fucking depressed because I'm not at Tekko right now. I was planning on going with a bunch of friends, and meeting up with some awesome people I haven't seen in forever, including my long distance girlfriend, but things changed and now they're all there and I'm sitting at home on 4chan.

How about some funny stories about things that have happened at cons/involving cosplay? Or anything mood-lightening in general, really.

Pic sooo fucking related. I've been sitting here looking at images of the place for the last few minutes.

Ah, I'm really sorry, OP. I always feel like shit when I miss a con that alot of my friends are going to. I can't think of anything besides breaking a fat yaoi fuck fangirl's paddle when she stalked me with it at Otakon '08 (which, doesn't by the the way, allow the things in the first place). She complained to a staff member, and they tried to get me kicked out. I refused, taking up my case with the help desk, and they let me stay. Not really funny, but whatever.

I HATE those fucking paddles. And most yaoi fangirls in general. I will admit, I love my yaoi, but I don't go around conventions whacking people with fucking paddles, or screaming at people cosplaying members of pairings I like to make out. Jesus.

    Props to you, though

Ah. Well, I hope you're able to go. My best friend and I have been going to a bunch of cons together since our first, Otakon '08. This is my first time I'm not able to attend a con that she's going to. This will also be her first con without me there, but I'm sure it won't affect her because there are several friends of hers there, and her crush as well.

She has no reason to be upset. I know for a fact that she isn't, because I called her and she sounded like she was having a great time. She knows I'd rather see her happy and enjoying herself instead of mulling over me not going.

Wow, /cgl/. This thread isn't really working, to be quite honest. Oh well, still something to do. Stories about anything, or even random bulllshit, are still greatly appreciated.

Did your grandmother misinterpret something the doctor said, or did they actually think she was in serious condition?

The fuckwit doctor actually thought she was in serious condition. He appologized and tried to explain himself to me. He seemed really sorry, and that was the only thing that kept me from exploding on him.

My story fails, but I feel bad for OP, so here it is.

At a con, uh... end of 2007, I think? Anyway. Small local con. I was wearing my Sai costume (of Naruto. You know. The little belly-bearing, penis-obsessed jerkwad.) My friend was cosplaying as Ranma (if I recall correctly).

We left the con area to go about a mile down the road to an Arby's. We go in and an African-American lady gives us this look. I figured it was a "ew, wtf" look. But, she shocked the shit out of my friend and me when she asked IN COMPLETE SERIOUSNESS, "Ya'll fight crime or somethin'?"

Holy. Shit. How the hell does pic related give the police-crime-fighting impression? I was so astounded at her stupidity that I could only stare at her. After a moment or so, I finally laughed. BUT SHE WAS TOTALLY SERIOUS. WTF IS WRONG WITH THIS COUNTRY.

I was at a con and saw this fat hairy guy in an Alice in wonderland dress. He had a wig and makeup and everything. I was taking a picture and he posed and called me 'sweet cheeks.' Never walked away so fast in my life.
Another time I saw this guy in a leopard spandex suit on roller blades with a red cape slowly dancing to new age music. It was hypnotizing in a strange, strange way.
