my ranting. Seriously, peacebonding rules are fucking ridiculous. From
the weapon policy thread on the Sakura Con forum:
Con attendee: >My
(almost 9-year old) daughter & I will be attending dressed as
Kagome & Inu-Yasha -- My daughter's costume includes a bow &
arrow that I constructed for her from tree branches, string & the
arrow head is made from Sculpey. If you really, really really tried,
you could get it to shoot the arrow about 3 inches before it broke. Can
we bring it? Mostly for posing purposes...
Con staff: >Rule
for bows is that we have to de-string them, unfortunately, I understand
the bow isn't functional, even with the string, but those are the
rules. sorry. unless you mean to say that the string is also made from
sculpy. this, I can allow. the arrows can still be held in her hand for
pictures, but they, too, would need to be bound.
LET ME
GET THIS STRAIGHT: I can bring a slightly curvy stick, but not if it
has a string attaching the two ends, regardless of functionality, or,
you know, the fact that it's in the hands of a NINE YEAR OLD? And it's
fine if the string is made of sculpy and not string...which is totally
possible to do. All these fucking retarded rules we have to have
because of the 1% of our retarded society that we have to cater to.
FUCK
PEACEBONDING
RULES
Anon, I say bring your guns anyways. ROW ROW FIGHT DA POWAH |
