My mom's in a pretty darned good circus and they're doing their last run after ten years over the next couple months.

They have all ages shows Sunday night. In Fremont. A bit pricey for after-con ($20, I think) but for definitely worth it.

There are pretty costumes, good musics, and funny things, not to mention the whole circus arts thing.

Correct. I wasn't there, but a friend of mine went, and apparently there were some jokes of the RAEP nature that offended the con staff. They (con staff) went to get some higher-ups, and in the 2 minutes it took for staff to arrive, the entire panel dissipated in to thin air.

-The peacebonding booth is on the 4th floor of the convention center, so, obviously, don't go brandishing them there, cause they'll be sure to pull you over and give you shit about 'em

-Steal one of those ribbons at the peacebonding booth (hide the guns, say it's for some other prop like a scythe or something, but that the ribbon you had for it before fell off somewhere and you need another one), then when you walk away, put the ribbons on the guns.

-When you eventually DO get bitched at by con staff and they tell you airsoft guns aren't allowed, tell them you didn't know, and that you'll go take them back to your hotel room immediately. Walk off, get out of their eyesight, and enjoy the rest of the con. Just try not to come into contact with that particular staff member again. Shouldn't be too hard. You should be able to do that at least once for every staff member that harasses you.

I think instead of stupid fucking peacebonding, cons should do a kind of prop registry instead. You could bring pretty much whatever you want as long as it's not ridiculously dangerous (real guns, sharp swords, etc) and take it in to the prop registry table. They'd write down a description of the prop in question and your name/badge name, issue a prop number, and then if that prop was found being misused you'd get warned or kicked out.

I had a sword at Sakura Con last year (big ass six foot katana for Kamina). I kept it in the sheath at all times except for during photos, when I would hold it above my head. It wasn't sharpened or anything, but one of the peacebondingfags saw this and they bitched at me and zip tied it shut into the sheath so it could not be removed just because it was made out of metal.
