The Sony Alpha is a great DSLR. It takes after it's Minolta lineage. He just has no idea how to use it. If you ever watch him shoot, he's using it like a point and shoot.

With DSLRs you look through the viewfinder. He's still using the LCD. I'm also pretty sure he still has it on full auto.
