How do you dress at a convention when you're not cosplaying?
    >> Anonymous 11/20/08(Thu)15:14 No.1433021
    gothic-ish, like everybody else.
    >> Anonymous 11/20/08(Thu)15:22 No.1433036
as cool as I possibly can.

My best fitting jeans and my flirtiest shirts. No drab tshirts or hair in a ponytail.
    >> Anonymous 11/20/08(Thu)15:23 No.1433037
Comfortable, because when i'm not cosplaying, I'm sleeping
    >> Anonymous 11/20/08(Thu)15:24 No.1433038
Often in 50's-style dresses and heels. I don't know why, it just happens.
    >> Anonymous 11/20/08(Thu)15:26 No.1433042
    in normal fashion?

    Wtf you guys are faggots.
    >> Anonymous 11/20/08(Thu)15:27 No.1433044
Find a good fitting suit, a respectable looking suitcase, and walk around the convention looking like a horrified business man.
    >> Anonymous 11/20/08(Thu)15:29 No.1433047
    >>1433036
    pretty much this
    >> Anonymous 11/20/08(Thu)15:32 No.1433052
Im usually wearing jeans and a tee, or a skirt and leggings and a tee. Sometimes I break out the combat boots.
My hair usually gets more than the usual amount of attention I give it. Especially when it was shorter, Id spike it, do stupid things.
Now that its getting longer, wig head is harder to deal with so Im starting to go back to hats.
    >> Anonymous 11/20/08(Thu)15:33 No.1433054
I dress in blue hotpants and a tight t-shirt that says Mega Milk.
    >> Anonymous 11/20/08(Thu)15:35 No.1433056
Pretty regularly. When I'm not in cosplay, I don't want any attention drawn to myself. I just want to talk to friends and wander the dealer's hall.
    >> Anonymous 11/20/08(Thu)15:40 No.1433066
Usually just dark jeans and a black turtleneck and my leather jacket and boots. It's how I dress 90% of the time anyway when I'm not at the office. I might pull out a snarky/offensive t-shirt for one of the nights or goth it up for the rave I never go to -- and at D*C I'll wear something close to club wear -- but otherwise I just dress like I always dress.
    >> Anonymous 11/20/08(Thu)15:42 No.1433068
led zepplin t-shirt and beer boxers last time.
Basicly whatever's handy and dosen't smell bad due to raving, because I don't do fucking laundry while I'm at cons.
    >> Anonymous 11/20/08(Thu)15:43 No.1433069
Showing as much cleavage as possible without looking whore-y.
    >> Anonymous 11/20/08(Thu)15:54 No.1433075
A shirt and pants. Usually if I'm not in cosplay, its because I felt like putting on comfortable clothes, and its not like there's anyone at an animu con I'm trying to impress.

I'm actually looking for a fun con outfit. Right now it's my rave/dance outfit. But I need a new one.

I like to wear normal clothes. In example right now I'm wearing a nice pair of Dockers khakhis, comfortable Oxford knockoffs (shoes for those who don't know), plain red collared shirt, and a black overcoat.
    >> Anonymous 11/20/08(Thu)16:21 No.1433110
Mananon here. Last con I wore just a towel.
    >> SlowMope 11/20/08(Thu)16:23 No.1433113
my wardrobe consists of black with a little bit of pink thrown in here or there. I wear black jeans with black boots with a black tee that probably has some sort of anime logo on it. or hello kitty.
damn I love me some hello kitty t-shirts.

at cons I like to mix it up with some shiny jewelery or something, possibly a multicolored wig, or have my hair styled for once instead of shoved under a hat. I also like to break out my fluffy skirts and stranger head gear. My extensive sock and umbrella collection also tends to make an appearance.

but I am almost always in costume so this does not happen often, usually at night when my feet can't take my cosplay shoes anymore.

Pretty snazzily, but then again my style is questionable. Really bright pants and a dark shirt (or vice versa), boots, and maybe one of multiple weird vest-things I own.
    >> Anonymous 11/20/08(Thu)16:58 No.1433143
You can always tell you are at an anime con because of the sea of mallgoths and leather coats.

Those of us who dress in everyday crowd blending clothing end up standing out.
    >> Anonymous 11/20/08(Thu)16:58 No.1433145
I just dress better than your average con goer. This is not at all hard. Makes me look all classy, just for wearing something better than a ratty animu tee-shirt and ripped jeans or cargo pants.

One con, on Friday, I came from my day job, and was still wearing my suit. I noticed a number of girls noticing me. Also, the hotel staff treated me with dignity and respect, which was generally not the case with regular con goers.
    >> Anonymous 11/20/08(Thu)17:04 No.1433156
I dress as I do any other day, usually with some pressed top and slacks (I've had it drilled into my head to dress nicer then most because of work). However, when I do this, it's become common for people to ask for my picture, out of costume.

And it creeps me out every time. >:
    >> Anonymous 11/20/08(Thu)17:08 No.1433163
    Stripey socks/tights
Skirt, tartan or black or with some kind of pattern
    Tshirt
    Sometimes long sleeved tops
    Cardigan
    Some kind of tacky jewlerry

Pretty much every day. I am not very gifted with my fashion taste, but at least it's interesting and not boring
    >> Anonymous 11/20/08(Thu)17:09 No.1433166
I just wear normal clothes lol Cept maybe I'll make sure to bring cuter shirts or something, and more accessories.

So like: jeans/capris, flipflops, cute shirt, some colorful jewelery, maybe a faggoty hat, or just a cute headband.

boho style during the warm months and 80s/japan punkish-goth during the cold months. what's most amusing here is the fact that I'm not joking.

I don't look like your average anime/manga fan. I like to wear slacks, collared shirt, and a pair of asics or addidas (sambas, usually).

Usually pajamas, since that's the only time I'm not cosplaying. Although I try to get decent looking pajamas to wear at conventions, since even after I decide "it's time to sleep!" I'll get the bright idea to go to a late night panel or walk around and look for zombies.

I usually end up wearing an obscure band tee that I've altered into a halter top or something, or some brightly colored top that I find interesting. My tastes lean toward cybergoth in that respect. Add some jeans or black shorts (depending on the weather), knee or thigh high stockings (with shorts) and boots or Chuck Taylors. Oh, and goggles I bought at a previous con and random accessories. I usually grab a handful out of my dresser and shove it in a bag to take to a con.

Yeaaaah I don't plan these things very well. I mostly stay in cosplay or rave gear, anyhow.
    >> Anonymous 11/20/08(Thu)21:48 No.1433635
In high school I used to wear American Eagle/Hollister, I always felt really out of place at cons.
Now I've upgraded to higher end stores and I feel even more out of place at cons. Especially since I wear really girly looking skirts/dresses all summer.

Jeans and T-shirts, usually hair in a ponytail or under a hat because chances are I'm suffering from wig cap hair. After I change out of a costume all I want is to be comfortable.

Whatever I feel like. My fashion sense is all over the map; you're as likely to see me in heels, leggings, and a minidress as you are to see me in skinny jeans and a Queen shirt, or kneebreeches with striped stockings, a buttondown, and a ribbon tie. Or something else altogether.

I usually don't go to cons for any other purpose other than to see other cosplayers and maybe buy some crap.

so I'd dress how I'd always dress on a day off: casually, probably something simple like jeans and a simple shirt. Basically, neat, presentable, and blends into a crowd.

I'm a camera whore, so I dress up super neato and generally decora-like.
