How bad are the gas prices there?

It isn't yet, but that's mostly because I'm fucking lucky enough to still live at home, and have parents who are nice enough to not make me pay room and board. When I go to cons, I always go with friends, so we pool our money together so things are a lot cheaper.

However, the unemployment rate in my town is quite high, and even getting a part time job in retail is ridiculously difficult, so despite the fact that my current job sucks, I can't leave it because nobody will hire me. So right now, my future is looking pretty goddamn bleak. I'm going to have to move out eventually, but I honestly can't find anywhere that will give me more than 25 hours a week, and that's 15 hours short of what I need. Fuck.

well i cant go fabric shopping this weekend because there's no gas anywhere.

I was thought I had a good chance at getting a job at a fabric store, since it was one of the few places hiring and the manager seemed to like my application, but no luck so far. Would have been good for cosplay, but now it looks like I'm just going to have to get a minimum wage job through work study :C

It sucks but people are willing to pay a lot for someone to watch after the kids during the day so they don't have to drive all over the place. I came so close to getting a gig where I would watch the kids from 8-3 and get paid 50 dollars a day, 4 days a week.

Only in that airfare has gotten more expensive. My salary is the same, so I'm doing OK. I'm thinking of cutting back on the big costumes, though. They get more and more expensive, and I think it's time to take a short break after I finish the one I'm on now.

Well...the economy mixed in with the fact that my boss has been in and out of the hospital for 2 months has leeched the money out of me, and my workplace, as my hours, as well as the rest of the employees, have been cut. >: So no more travelling out of province for cons. That cuts it from 5 cons to 2 this year. Fuck.
