I love SoL but Lucky Star was a weekly, boring 24 minute Haruhi commercial.

Uninteresting characters doing uninteresting things in an uninteresting setting. Relies on otaku references the same way Family Guy relies on pop culture references. Relies on lolsorandum humor the same way Family Guy does.

SoL anime need a hook to keep them interesting. Aria had Neo Venezia. K-ON had playing in a band. Etc.

All Lucky Star has is otaku references so it's going to be boring as shit for all but the most obsessive otaku.

It was uninteresting because I don't spend 10+ hours a day watching anime so I don't have a 1000+ show list of anime I've watched. Deal with it.

Its only appeal I can see is to hardcore otaku who will get all the references. The references are its only hook. It's an exceptionally poor show for anyone who does not belong to its very niche targeted audience: high powerlevel otaku.

I didn't too, I didn't understand half of the references, and I love Lucky Star.

I simply love the characters (except Miyuki, but I guess that's why she isn't in Miyakawa). The interactions between the otaku and her tsundere were the soul of the show, and I found the character development very good paced for a SoL show.
