Aside from the animation, I personally like the story and concept. On top of that many of the pitfalls of other series were avoided, like unnecessary pantyshots or school-life devolving into cute-girls-doing-cute-things. Of course it was only 26 minutes and they had to cut things, but I trust them not to screw it up anyway. That's another thing: the studio's great, listens to fans both in the East and West, and has members with an impressive history of work.
