Last weekend we conducted 4chan PMQ/Q&A #3, with 1400 people contributing 4500 posts over 22 hours. I managed to spend the better part of a day answering as many questions as possible—thread here.
Since loading large threads can be a bit of a pain on slower computers, you can also see my replies from the /q/ index (hover over the "Administrator Replies" quotelinks).

Thanks to everyone who asked questions and participated!

Hello and welcome to the Suzuridani Girls Academy Gymnasium, where the Suzuridani Basketball Club will play host to the representatives of Keishin Private Academy. This will be a friendly matchup between the two schools, but we’re in for a treat tonight, as the full starting five from Suzuridani, led by ace Aida Miyu, will be taking on the inexperienced but talented group from Keishin, featuring their star Minato Tomoka.

Good evening, everyone, I’m Mike Breen, and we’ll hear from Walt “Clyde” Frazier shortly, but let’s talk about the story surrounding this one: simply taking part in this match has been a hard-fought battle for the girls from Keishin Private Academy. Reports came out earlier this week that their journey to this prestigious school only earned them tents, sleeping bags, and some practice time with the Suzuridani substitutes! But after witnessing off their skills in practice sessions – as well as hearing an earful from Keishin coach Hasegawa Subaru – club director Nobidome Hatsue gave them the chance to face off against Suzuridani’s best. Clyde?

That’s right Mike, and after stunning Keishin Academy’s own Boys’ Basketball Club earlier this year, these girls have been fired up and looking to take on tougher opponents. If they want to progress as players, they’re going to have to do that, but a number of things stand in the way: their unknown reputation is certainly a hindrance, as well as their lack of a bench, which prohibits them from taking part in any sort of tourney. They’re a talented group, but they’ll be playing against a tried-and-true squad from Suzuridani, so we’ll see how well they stack up against the real deal.

So we’re about ready to get underway, Suzuridani Academy against the visiting Keishin Academy. Tipoff goes to Keishin’s Kashii Airi, who smacks it toward Misawa Maho – but it’s grabbed by Aida Miyu - she'll take it up the court for the game’s first possession.

Miyu hands it off, but quickly receives the ball again, she has some room to shoot and she does! A quick jumper gives Suzuridani an early two point lead.

Tomoka will take it up the court for Keishin’s first possession, she’ll pass the ball off to Maho who looks to take on Miyu. She makes her move, but it’s easily taken away by Miyu! Miyu drives up the court uncontested, and that’s another quick two points for the Suzuridani ace.
Maho looked a bit overzealous on her first touch, Mike, there seems to be some bad blood between the two teams after the ordeal we alluded to earlier, and we can already hear some early jawing on the court.

Maho takes the ball up the floor again, and she’s quickly met with a double team – and she turns it over again! That’s her second turnover in Keishin’s two possessions, and that’s an early six point lead for Suzuridani – and Hasegawa Subaru will use his first timeout to calm down his squad.
Maho certainly looks bedeviled by the superior skill of the opposing team, their man-to-man defense easily creating opportunities to force turnovers and easy buckets on the other end. It’ll be up to Hasegawa to calm down the young neophyte.

It’ll be Nagatsuka Saki taking the ball up for Keishin this time, Maho is calling for the ball once again, but instead it’ll be Hakamada Hinata’s first touch of the day – she whips it around to Kashii Airi who puts it up – too strong, that won’t go, and Suzuridani recovers the rebound.
It looks like an early position change, Mike, I believe Saki will take over point duties from Tomoka. That’s a smart move from coach Hasegawa, I think Saki is the more prudent facilitator of the offense, allowing Tomoka to focus on scoring.

Suzuridani quickly takes it up the court again, this time a quick double team from the defense – and that shot is wild. Airi manages to box out her man, and she’ll pull down her first rebound of the game.
We haven’t talked about this yet, but one of the keys to a Keishin victory will be Kashii Airi’s presence in the paint. The precocious center towers over everyone on the court, and she can really wreak havoc if she takes advantage of her size.

Saki takes it up the court again, this time taking a look at Tomoka – but instead she finds Maho on the wing, she’ll take her first shot of the game, and that’s good! Maho gets Keishin on the board with their first two points of the night.

That quick glance at Tomoka drew an extra defender towards her, Mike, and Maho was the beneficiary on that play: an open look and an easy basket from her preferred spot.

It’ll be Saki at the one again for Keishin, this time it looks like they’ll stick to their man-to-man coverage. Saki finds Tomoka who looks to go one-on-one… she makes her move and gets by the defender, puts up her first shot of the day, and count it!

There’s the ace we’ve been looking for, Minato Tomoka, slicing and dicing through the Suzuridani defense and knocking down her first jump shot.

Suzuridani’s next shot goes wide, and it’ll be Keishin ball again. Saki finds Tomoko, but she’ll send it back to Saki… This time Saki finds Airi in the paint, she’ll look to post up – instead she kicks it back out to Tomoka, who will put up her second shot, and she buries that one! Keishin erases that early deficit to knot it up at 8 midway through the second quarter.

And what’s been really impressive in this run, folks, has been the ball movement: a simple swap positioning Saki at point has led to fluid continuity, allowing Tomoka to find some great shots, and Keishin to find their way back into this game.

This time Miyu will handle the ball for Suzuridani, she’ll whip it around and send it into the paint, they put it up and in over Airi – but there’s contact on the play, and a whistle – offensive charging is the call, and it’s a turnover for Suzuridani!

Aida Miyu is supposed to be their ace, but she looked really lackadaisical on that play! And when your star doesn’t look interested, it really spreads around the team, they’ve been stumbling and bumbling ever since Keishin started this run.

Saki takes the ball up with a chance to give Keishin their first lead of the game, and she sends it to Maho, who is quickly doubled. Maho, to Hina, this is a bad matchup for Hina – she goes UNDER the defender, and takes a wild shot over her head with her back to the rim – and she banks that in, wow!

Whoa, what a shot by the diminutive Hakamada Hina! You wouldn’t expect that athleticism from such a small frame, but she snuck past her defender and finished that play with the razzle dazzle!

Suzuridani takes it up again – but this time it’s quickly stripped by Maho, another turnover for the suddenly-inept Suzuridani offense! Miyu giving chase, she goes up to contest the shot – COUNT IT, AND ONE, WOW! After taking the contact from Aida Miyu, Maho takes a desperate shot on the way down gets it to go!

That was an egregious foul, Mike, if you’re going to foul like that you need to make sure they don’t have a chance at the basket! Maho will go to the line to attempt the traditional three-point play.

Miyu will take it up the floor again and you can really tell she’s forcing it now, Clyde, I’m sure she’d like to take control of this game back, and she can do it herself – she looks to take Tomoka one on one, she makes her move – STRIPPED by Tomoka! Another Suzuridani turnover, and another easy basket for Tomoka, make that 15 to 10!

This is a complete turnaround for Keishin, Mike, after that inauspicious start to this game, they’ve been out-hustling and out-muscling their opponents since, and that’s turned into a 15-4 run since the end of the first quarter!

And it’s another short shot in response by the Suzuridani offense, the rebound goes to Keishin again – and now Aida Miyu is really hearing it from her coach, Nobidome Manaka.

She looked lost on that play, she had a shot at that long rebound but was caught flat-footed. She needs to get her head in this game if Suzuridani wants to keep up with the running and gunning Keishin Academy.

Suzuridani will take one last shot – that’s good, and that’ll cut the Keishin lead to 3, we’ll head to halftime with the Keishin girls leading 15 to 12. Clyde, what did you think of that first half?

The game has seen its shifts in momentum, Mike, with Keishin Academy looking outmatched for most of the first quarter, and then Suzuridani suddenly unable to keep up with a rejuvenated Keishin offense. Despite that, the store is still close, and this is anybody’s game. Minato Tomoka has certainly lived up to her billing, and we’ve seen some nice shots from Misawa Miho, but Nagatsuka Saki is the real star of that first half – ever since taking the point guard position, she’s run the offense really well, finding both Maho and Hina for open looks, allowing Airi to dominate the paint, and still managing to let Tomoka get some good shots. I would expect Suzuridani to try to counter her play, but their success will depend on Aida Miyu getting into the game – she just hasn’t matched up to the star power she faces in Tomoka yet.

We’ll get underway with the second half, Saki will take the ball up for Keishin – she has trouble finding an open man here, and she looks to penetrate – but she loses the ball to Miyu! Miyu takes it up the court, Tomoka chases her down and tries to contest the shot – wow, a brilliant redirection in her layup to go around Tomoka, Miyu drains that one to cut the lead to one!

And that’s just what we were talking about, Mike, where was that Aida Miyu during the first half!

And after another basket by Suzuridani, we’ll have a timeout here. Just a few minutes left into the fourth quarter and its Keishin by just one, 19-18.

We’ll have to see if anything gets switched up here, Mike, but much like their last game, this could turn into a battle of star power for Keishin, this time the prolific scoring of Aida Miyu stands in their way!

No, she sends it to Hina, quick outlet to Maho, and that’s an open shot and it’s good for two!

Great ball movement from the girls from Keishin, folks, this time it was Airi with the altruistic touch, she hasn’t made use of her height on the offensive side of the ball tonight, but she wisely passes up a contested shot, and it’s Maho that is the benefactor this time, with Hina notching the assist.

Suzuridani will look to respond to keep this game close – and they will, that’ll cut the deficit back down to 1. And the Keishin squad looks a bit sluggish here as the game goes on, Clyde.

Yeah, they simply haven’t had many opportunities to play a game like this, and it really shows in their movements. They’re huffing and puffing as they set up at each end, they just might not have the conditioning and stamina to keep up with Suzuridani for a full game.

A quick outlet to Miyu, and she’ll take it up the court for the uncontested shot, and IT’S GOOD! With time winding down, Suzuridani takes a one point lead!

And after all the dishing and swishing from the Keishin offense, it looks like they just won’t be able to stay in the game with the physically fit bunch from Suzuridani! Neither Maho nor Saki had it in them to run down the court to contest that shot, they’ll have to bank everything on these final possessions!

Well Clyde, this one was certainly back and forth, what did you think?

It was a great game, of course, everyone’s going to zone in on Saki’s last shot, but the whole team really has things to look at, especially that last back door play. Something like that, both executing or defending against it, just comes with experience – I’m sure Miyu had a run like that in her mind for most of the game, but picked the best possible time to get down the court. They played a great game, though, their teamwork was excellent and they held the lead for a good portion of the game, but Suzuridani’s skill just kept the score close no matter how much momentum they had. I look forward to seeing the Keishin Basketball Club improve on their teamwork-oriented, running and gunning style of play.

We’re glad to say the two teams congratulated each other after the game: surely if there was any bad blood between the two before the game, they’ve let it all out on the court, and walked away pleased the results. Thanks for joining us tonight, remember - you can catch continuing coverage of NBA Playoff Basketball on ESPN by myself, and check out New York Knicks playoff coverage on MSG Network in the New York area to find my partner. So ready for Loliball.
Even if it's clearly fanservice, I'm really glad that they do show lengthy-enough games.
Hope it has more budget. And I'd kill babies to get figures of them released. Or get a western studio to make a basketball game with them.
Don tell me you would compete here if they had several Elementary Schools to choose from. Complete with slow-mo spat shots.

Loli Basketball

This is deep shit, man.

If you didn't notice, it's a story of a damaged teenage boy who has been denied the one thing he wants in life - to play basketball. His team was disbanded due to the misconduct of the captain, and he hardened his heart, telling himself that he didn't care about basketball. His aunt saw his pain and tricked him into coaching a girl's basketball team, where he rediscovers his love for the sport in a little girl's technically perfect jump shot.

On the other side of things, the show is also about gender inequality and a little girl's coming to terms with the fact that while she's a genius when it comes to technical skills, the fact that she's a girl means that she'll never be able to truly be an athlete. Faced with a world in which the boy's basketball team will always be more important, she nearly resigns herself to complete femininity - giving up the game as long as it means she can have her friends. Her coach, inspired by her level of skill, pulls her back from the brink and in the process she learns to play simply because she loves basketball too much not to, and that things like winning and prestige don't really matter.

It's truly an inspiring sports tale, anon. Don't let the cutesy character designs fool you.

Or how about Loliball Manager?
Instead of serious statistics, tone it a bit down and take them out and give them sweets or gifts for them to step up in games.

I still like her. There are many great players who just aren't very clutch. I don't think you should judge her so harshly on one missed shot.

>>

They tend to be tighter and smaller, but the anime knock-off ones tend to be really cheap and not even worth it.
