He started the series with a personality problem, which turned out to be rooted in the fact that he's afraid to try things because he's afraid to fail. Strangely enough, Jojo's OVA. From then I watched Spriggan, Cowboy Bebop and Angel's Egg. I've always been on the lookout for hand-drawn stuff or more realistic animation styles so I'm really apprehensive at most of the moe stuff I see on /a/...that being said I've seen Azumanga, Nichijou, obv shit like Sailor Moon etc. I dunno. Slayers, Elfen Lied and Shaman king, it was on our TV channels and it made me watch anime occasionally along with cartoons, movies and tv-series. When I got my first internets and watched Death Note, it made me anime fag.

When I was young, I watched Kimba the White Lion and Speed Racer. I didn't know what it was at the time, so I forgot about it, but I started buying the Shonen Jump magazines in the 00's when they first came out and I ended up liking it. Started tuning in to Toonami (shit dubs yeah I know) and I guess watching Rozen Maiden really kicked off my anime habits.

This is really hard to say...The first anime I actually watched all the way through might've been Love Hina. Or .hack//Sign. I think it was one of those two, though (I'm pretty sure it was Love Hina, actually).

I was probably in the rabbit hole safely by the time I was 9-10 and watching 4kids shows while playing Pokemon all day, but I didn't actually start watching subbed stuff actively until I didn't have dial-up.

I don't think it was any specific show that triggered it so much as actually having access to the internet for more than an hour a day (though I'm sure I would have been just as bad and staying up to watch Adult Swim at age 7 if I had grown up with cable TV).

When I was a kid i've grown up with shit many gerfags have watched doing that time.

The first time I was seriously hyped about anything that was Anime was the first 2 seasons of Marimite, it took 2 years to get into some sort of jaded feeling about it. I know that I've watched over 500 series during that time though. After that I played video games. The train kept rolling because you fuckers hyped the ever living shit out of it. I stopped watching Anime during 2006.

What is funny is that during 2007, I merely lurked in TTGL threads but I didn't watch one episode of the series itself during that time. I literally just came by to see you guys freak out most of the time.

Then in 2008 I watched ARIA the Origination and was hooked to the entire atmosphere of it. Obviously I've watched the entirely of ARIA again when I had any episode there is. This was only short lived though because I've watched a couple series made during the early 00's.

Angel Beats! became the next motivation for me to watch anime 4-16 hours a day again. This was also the time where I've seen LoGH, this series introduced me into series that went longer then just 51 episodes, I watched anything from Urusei Yatsura from Rurouni Kenshin up to the Dragonball series. After 9 or so months I've again stopped watching anime.

Because I am more of an mangafag I've read a lot of stuff. During the very late of 2011 I've found out about Watamote and enjoyed it. When I heard you fucks actually promoted so it became more recognized I came back to this place so we can fuck each others in our asses like we always do. I have no idea what I do when Watamote ends.

I still have a few shows that I did not watch, but I want to see them along with ARIA again when I quit watching Anime for real.

Yes, I only watch Anime "seriously" because of you fucks and I think it's time to leave to a place where I only read my manga.

And nothing of value was lost.

Some nerds must have gotten control of the public television station in my area and aired the entirety of End of Evangelion when I was a kid. Imagine being eight or so and seeing that from start to finish. It was so bad that I thought it was just a nightmare until I found out what Evangelion was years later.

Overall, 2008 is the superior work, but 2003 arguably has better Homunculi and the more memorable OST. As I said, I enjoyed both. YMMV.

Evangelion. I never liked anime because I thought it was weird, specially when I went with a friend to a small "anime + videogames" "con" at a random place near school, where I saw a little magical girls fight scene (which was ridiculous) and a fat guy dancing to a kinect game.
A year after that my brother decided to look for his childhood cartoon OPs, when the Eva OP started playing at full volume. For some reason, a fake nostalgia grew on me when I heard it, so I asked what show was that from. He looked at me saying "you haven't seen Evangelion?" and took a big bag full of ripped DVDs of the show.
Needless to say I watched the show and the movies in 2 days.
When the 3rd movie came out, I thought it would be a good idea to download other stuff while the movie was downloading, so after lurking some reviews on youtube (god, what was I thinking) I ended up downloading Haruhi, Spice and Wolf and Lucky Star. Lucky Star aside, those 3 when the reason I now, 5 months later, have to buy a new HDD.

For me, it has to be SZS. Only things I had watched before then were shows like DBZ and I think Kenshin maybe. I wasn't really into cartoons, and I only watched them dubbed.

A cousin of mine was watching some Zetsubou, and after sitting with him and trying to make heads or tails of all the references and wordplay being thrown rapid-fire, I realized how cool Japanese could be sometimes and started to watch other shows outside of the few that air on North American channels.

And here I am, years later blogging on /a/ about it.

Ore no Imouto. Dead seious. I was off work for an injury last year and was browsing /a/, saw a thread with Kirino and thought that she looked pretty hot and so I streamed the whole series. Since then I've watched about 120 series and haven't left the house for anything except groceries once a week.

I used to watch the fuck out of shows like FMA and Inu-Yasha, sometimes Naruto but fuck that.

I always loved Pokemon and Digimon too, but after a while I fell out of Anime liking. Just last season I picked up Hataraku Maou-Sama though and loved it.

Though in my prime I did an easy 25 Inu-Yasha eps in day and that was with holding back.

But since 2 years or so I have enormous problems concentrating so watching even a single episode in a whole day became extremely difficult.

I've watched a number of series before, mostly babby's first (FLCL, TTGL, Bebop, Eva, some Gundam, Dragonball, Shana, and Pokemon, Naruto, and One Piece), but that was a long time ago. Then in fall 2012 I wandered from other boards onto /a/ to find chuu2 threads everywhere. Curious, I checked it out, discovered it was still airing, watched the first episode streaming, and found animu highly entertaining when following the shows' daily autistic shitposting threads on /a/.

Hard to say, I kind of ignored anime for most of my teen years, then picked a load up when I had time and a better internet access.

I watched some anime before that, stuff which was televised in the west like Outlaw Star, Cowboy Bebop, Dragonball Z, Gundam Wing and Big O, but I wasn't that into them and watched them at a friends house because I didn't even have good cable for it.

So really when it came to downloading and watching anime in a big way, it was stuff like One Piece. I almost feel bad about it, but once you get the hunger for more you can better define your tastes as you try new things out.
