Why are you guys learning Japanese?

It took me a month just to learn hiragana?

How long will it take me to learn Japanese if I study 1 hour per day?

They will just switch to romaji in a few years, seems like it's a wasted effort. Kanji don't even make sense.

Why do people learn to write? Seems kind of pointless.

How do I configure Anki correctly?

Am I doing enough new cards per day? How many am I supposed to do?

Learning Hiragana and Katakana should take you a week at most, if you put little time in it and you aren't mentally handicapped.

If you study one hour a day assuming perfect memorization and practice efficiency it'll probably take you 5 years. Even that is slim if you don't take any form of audio practice or speaking with a real person.

Kanji make sense. I'm learning Chinese, which is what the kanji are directly from/based from. Except Chinese doesn't have a syllabary to hold it's hand. They actually are on of the easiest parts of Japanese, minus the time sink factor.

When a hiragana is used they will generally use a hiragana and when a kanji is used they will generally use a kanji. An easy way to know is just look and see if they put a hiragana or a kanji and then you will know if they used a hiragana or a kanji.
