>Greetings everyone! I must say, words cannot simply express how happy we are! After returning from Anime Expo, we gathered and reviewed all the comments that were given to us. And, I believe we are ready to announce our stretch goal! Our deepest apologies to those who have patiently waited.

>To begin, we received many comments about "extending the episode length over 40minutes." We have to be honest, it is looking very difficult to make this happen. We simply do not have the capacity to finish the project by 2014~2015 if we maintain our current quality of animation. Also if we were to aim for a series project, it will for sure be later than 2016 since we have our upcoming television series "KILL la KILL." We just do not want to make all of you fans wait that long. We deeply apologize for this.

>What we have decided to set for our 500,000 USD stretch goal are the following: -Adding an audio commentary and a making of LWA2 documentary. -Adding an Original Sound Track and Gengasyu (Line art collection book)

>We have also added more quantity to the 2,000 and 10,000 USD rewards!

>On a side note, I heard from GOOD SMILE COMPANY that they may "consider" creating a Little Witch Academia figure if we can manage to reach 500,000 USD!

>And we will be adding FAQ section soon! Please check them out, you just might find the answer you are looking for!

Fuck that, we're giving them millions.
>>
REV UP YOUR FUCKING WALLETS

I WANT THAT AKKO FIG
>>
>limiting time for the sake of quality
I'm okay with this. Some time in the future, they may do this again, which is awesome. I'd rather wait a year for 40 minutes than three years for a movie.
>>
someone post that gif of the Saudi prince just tossing money at girls.

Cause I kinda feel like that's what we are at this point

It's reasonable.

I'm glad they refuse to sacrifice quality for quantity.
>>
Got a citation for all this?
>>
I expected that. If it was going to take them till 2015 to just make a 35 minute episode, there was no way they were going to go for a movie length feature.

The soundtrack, line art collection book, and the figure seem like a great incentive. Hopefully Ooshima Michiru is still on board for the OST.

I think the whole point of the shitty stretch goals is that they are uncomfortable getting that much money. You think that, but the fact of the matter is that they'll pocket their 5% and step aside from the crossfire. There's nothing stopping a backer from suing the creator (because it has happened successfully before), which is why Kickstarter gives that warning: once the money is moved, their obligation as middleman is fulfilled.

I brought back a promo LWA fan thing from Anime Expo.

I was against extras like a dub when I thought they could use the extra money to make more content. but since it won't go beyond Dead Leaves-length, I'm not at all against a good dub. and I mean genuinely good with actual voice actors and not hacks who only have experience with poorly scripted Japanese video game and anime dubs that are no way to learn how to voice-act.

the idea that liking dubs makes you illiterate is very silly when talking about something with as much constant movement as LWA. it's impossible to give 100% of your attention to the visual acting of the characters AND focus on the text. rewinding to look at the animation just isn't the same, it breaks the flow.
>>
>We simply do not have the capacity to finish the project by 2014~2015 if we maintain our current quality of animation.

NEW GOAL IDEAS!
1. Production I.G Episode
2. Studio 4C Episode
3. Shaft Episode
4. Kyoani Episode
>>
I'm quite happy with these stretch goals. Although I doubt a figure from GSC is viable (since the Japs won't buy em), I still want one, or more.
>>
I want them to make a good dub. Not sure how expensive it would be to hire good english VAs though.

>>
>>89197752
Sup, dude. Haven't seen you in a while. When is your next stream?

On topic, I watched LWA multiple times. First to get a gist of the conversation and the rest was to enjoy the animation. I hope getting the genga book isn't too expensive.

Talking anything about dubs is retarded. The money should be put towards the actual project and not a localization of it. Which is why Tattsun made comment on twitter about how the dub argument was getting out of hand. They said they would consider what people said, and a dub was not one of them probably because licensing and getting a dub would money that could, you guessed it, be spent on the actual project. Deal with it.

>>89198158
There's not nearly enough KS funds for them to get a bigger studio. It would be better for them from a business standpoint if they do more anime projects and get more exposure and money from the Japanese market first.
>>
>>89197926
I think limited editions have a signature.
>>89197993

I thought licensing only came up when a US company wants to sell an anime in their market. Trigger is selling their anime directly. You are probably correct that dubbing brings more hassle, though.

I haven't streamed ever since 4chan made a rule against stream threads. it just wouldn't be the same if I linked one on my Twitter or something. the interesting part was showing older or more obscure anime to random people from /a/, not from a pool of like-minded people who already watch that sort of thing.
>>89197993
>deal with it
I'm not saying I really want a dub for LWA or anything, I agree with what the Twitter said and I actually thought it was annoying when the Kick-Heart people decided to spend the money on dubbing. however, good dubs are not a bad thing and the 'illiteracy' argument is extremely flawed. that's the point i wanted to make.
>>
>>89193932 (OP)
Sounds like this got overfunded and Trigger doesn't have enough staff to keep up. Those are some weak goals for 500k, it's probably reach there though given how much idiotic hype this thing got.
>>
I'm pleased with their reasoning behind not expanding the episode further and about even just the possibility of an Akko or Suzy figure, especially if it is a figma. I was going to donate money anyway but i may wait to see how they do the figure stuff before donating the big bucks.

>>89198417
Kill la Kill runs for two seasons, they'll be done with it by Q1 2014. They might have other unannounced work in the pipeline so they have to schedule LWA 2 carefully around it.

It's 26 episodes; it's safe to assume that they will working on it while it's airing.

Besides, trigger probably already has obligations with companies in Japan to animate CMs and what not,
>>
>>89198417
It took them 6 months to do LWA1. Since Kill La Kill is airing this year, they can only get started on this next year. So majority of next year is going to be spent on LWA2. If you want a longer episode, it's obviously going to take a lot more time.

How about they just give us LWA2 like they said, and then they can just invest the rest of the money on equipment, personnel, etc, you know, help then grow as a studio?

Just my 2 cents.

You don't have to hire animators. You can do it on commission. Studios often collaborate together on big projects. You pay for the job and/or give shares of the franchise.
