Holy crap, just found a little "Common Anime Phrases" book I got in summer camp of between grades 5 and 6.
It is embarrassing as fuck, but at least I can take solace in how the book is written in kana and not romaji.

Also, I found it really amusing that the company symbol had 薔薇 in it, took me a while to realize it's because the head instructor was called Rose.

I think it was officially a "Japanese summer camp", but yeah, everyone were there for anime. We learned baby level Japanese, had "lectures" about Japan from ACTUAL JAPANESE PEOPLE OMG, and watched anime.
Also lots of activities like "making sushi" or "writing a random kanji on a white shirt so you can show off".
