Over the past 48 hours 4chan's formspring page has gotten over 12,000 questions, and I've received over 3,000 e-mails. Many thanks to everyone who submitted a question, and sent me a message! I was able to respond to a few hundred e-mails and had hoped to start answering questions on formspring, but it seems that the number of questions broke the page. Once that's sorted out, I'll sift through them and answer as time allows.
Thanks again for all of the support!

In other news, /rs/ now processes MediaFire/MegaUpload/and a bunch of other links correctly (this had been broken for months). The old links should be updated in about a week (the checker is taking a while).

/a/, I posit you this question.

Say some brave fellow sets out to do something no one before him has done with the webcomic medium. He's trying to create a shonen style comic/manga. (Arguments over semantics need not apply. No one ever comes to a final agreement on "It's only manga if it's made in Japan!")

He dispenses with
- The inauthentic artstyle which OEL authors can't seem to shake off.
- The idea of releasing one page at a time (and instead releases a bundle of 19 pages a week like clockwork like most weekly manga-ka, shown as a chapter in the site archive, where the story arcs are distinctly seperated.)
- Unreliable deadline releases, save for times of real crisis like a natural disaster or a broken computer/tablet/whatever.
- The obvious mary sue wish fulfillment you don't give a shit about, as a reader.
- The problem of every-face.

And instead he's trying to tell a long ongoing story of consistent quality, ideally of the same caliber that you see in this post's image. The established plot elements go places, at a respectable leisurely pace. The characters are memorable, and useful to the plot in some way. And it doesn't suffer from a gauntlet of editors, corporate fatcats, and soccer moms that says he can't have this in his damn story.

He's willing to do all this for you at his toil. And let's say you do enjoy it. He just needs to paid. Not much, just enough to survive mostly. Not fat stacks of cash to pay for his pool, or even a two-story house. He relies on income via donations, advertisements, and merchandise relevant to an actual fan.

I've been showing some people Neon Genesis Evangelion for the last 2 days. Right now, we are on episode 20.

It's really funny. They actually got together to try and figure out the plot twists. So far, they have come to the conclusion that Rei is Shinji's sister. I do my best not to smile. Man, these last few episodes are gonna be fun.

Shapeshifting would actually use a lot of DNA coding I would expect, as you'd be rapidly altering your gene expressions and causing extremely rapid cell death and genesis (or totipotent cell alteration).

Lasers? Well not much in application but in order to grow your laser emitting organs and the power source for them I would expect that would have to be coded somewhere in your DNA.

Point is, they're organic life that generate new proteins(?) so they need SOME sort of coding. Even if it is not DNA in our understanding of it, NERV's scientists wanted an angel and they certainly got it down precise enough for Rei to merge with Lilith's "corpse".

Also... who ever said Angels do not reproduce sexually? They may have been created by a higher power or life form that created the white and black eggs, but who knows whether or not they were designed to breed? Certainly there is this the evocation of Christianity in naming them Angels but they clearly aren't following the rules of Christian Angels (closer to Jewish ones really, ha ha ha). Even if they were designed to be sexually sterile, they were created by a higher power so they may have been genetically modified members of that race(?) or made from other life experimented on by that race or created from scratch using organic genetics.

I just finished watching the OVAs, and well... It was better than I thought it was going to be. The plot is pretty straightforward (play around, SEX SCENE, repeat). The graphics were pretty cool, especially in Pico x Coco x Chico. The characters were fucking adorable. Oh, and the love... The love...

All and all, it was a fun run. Sex scenes varied here and there, but it was all good. Came 4 times.

... Is what I'd like to say. During every single sex scene, that motherfucking song came into my head. "ALWAYS". Shit ruined the experience.

I found it interesting how it was perfectly acceptable in the anime for the main female to be 14 yrs old and to be dating a guy much older than her, and even fine for her to marry at that age too (with her mom encouraging her to)

somehow, I don't think a mainstream TV or anime in japan is like that nowadays
