Hey, /a/. After many years of thinking and over 900 titles I think I've finally found myself a waifu. I was taking so long because I wanted to find myself a perfect waifu, one for a lifetime and never let go of her. But my what do you do when your waifu has someone she likes in the series? Does that make you her friendo? Is it even possible to have her as your waifu? How do you deal with that? How do you live with that knowledge, that your waifu might say to you that you're not her type or that she already has someone she likes?

If you can identify with him you could simply substitute yourself with him in your fantasy. If you can't, you simply envision her never having met him or whatever you want.

I think I can do that, I am actually similar in appearance and do basically the same stuff.

But that's just like changing everything, then you can change your waifu to your preferences, which is basically ruining the point of having a waifu at all.

No it isn't, it's just imagining your waifu in different circumstances. She's your waifu for her personality, not for anything else.
What if she'd met you instead of her canon love interest? What if she'd never been in the situation she was in in the series? She's still the same person, regardless of these things.
