Attention 4chan extension/user script/archive developers: Some time in the next few days, we'll be rolling out a complete HTML rewrite of the imageboards.
The design will remain the same, but the underlying HTML/CSS is completely new, and validates HTML5/CSS3 (with some tweaks to account for cross-browser compatibility).

Please visit this thread to read more about the changes, and here to preview the code.

As a regular user, these changes should not affect you. You will need to update your 4chan browser extensions/user scripts when their maintainer updates them to be compatible with the changes.
The official 4chan Chrome extension will be ready to go when the updates happen, and 4chan X should be ready soon. We'll post more details on the day of the migration!

Hey /a/ my powerlevel is quite low and the main problem is that I hate watching subbed anime. So my question to you is do you know moonspeak or do you put up with the subs? Also if you know moonspeak how did you learn it.

Nah, OP, I watch in English most of the time, reading is way to hard for me, I don't actually want to pay attention to what's being said at all and only care about the colorful characters fighting. I skip long conversations too, man words are just so shitty, I wish anime was like old movies where no one talked and just had ninja samurai battles all episode long

If you're still in school, try and take a Japanese language class, or at least look up the basics. That way you can always get the gist, and not have to read the subs for every little thing that's said.

Also I'm at the point where don't even realize I'm reading subs anymore, and don't remember ever having trouble with them.

I've always - wanted - to learn Japanese JUST to watch anime raws dunno if that's pathetic, but another language is always neat so I've always considered joining one of the language threads on /a/, but yeah, like >>65450096 said, reading subs is too god damn easy, and honestly, the emotion that the creators are trying to convey in the first place isn't really ruined just because you're not experiencing it in the original format.

I've read hundreds of millions of pages of books in my lifetime, and back when I started watching anime it was all subtitled only, so that's the natural way to watch it for me. I actually don't enjoy most dubs (even the excellent ones) simply because I keep expecting to be able to read the dialog.

Not to mention some dubs are downright horrible.

That said, subbed/dubbed is entirely a personal preference issue, unless you like keeping up with new releases, which in any given season are 75-80% shit anyway. So really it's 6 of one and half-dozen of another.

It was an easy A for university, plus I got to speak Japanese with my teacher and my Japanese improved greatly. And then class ended, and I stopped being able to talk to anyone with it and now I suck at it.
